Following potential 2015 draftees

I suspect that Illimane Diop(Whos getting blocked in this vid)is a better long term prospect than some of the domestic centers, and at worst fringe lottery grade. His arms are as long as Rudy Gobert, he shoots 70% ft's and has a mid-range jumpshot. Theres no doubt in my mind that Porzingis is the superior prospect.

For several years Calipari has hand-selected his recruits. Best recruiter in the history of the sport.. but others have really amped up their games. It's unreal how dominant the following schools have become;
UK
AZ
KU
Duke
UCLA (not sure Alford will be able to maintain like Cal, Miller, Self, and K, though)

Hahaha its great that this site doesnt seem to have any UNC homers, its odd to see on a basketball forum.

At 6'7" 185 lbs I dont think anyone here will be in a rush to draft Justin Jackson(not to be confused with the Canadian Justin Jackson). Theo Pinson looks pretty good though IMO.

I guess you've relegated teams like UNC, UConn, Syracuse and Florida to the 2nd tier ??

Georgetown's recruiting seems to be headed in the right direction. I think they've set themselves up really well moving forward, they may be near that '2nd tier' (I hope Chance Commanche goes there)

Alford fell into a perfect situation and made it work, i wouldnt be surprised if they continue getting top players, momentum is on their side plus Im not sure if their 5 star guys are one and done's either. he was handed a bunch of NBA Players plus UCLA's having a bit of a resurgence with their football squad too, at this point UCLA is a pretty easy sell.

I've been saying Looney-Welsh-Bolden is a nice class, especially when you add in Isaac Hamilton to replace LaVine.

Based on their recent success UConn should find itself in a good position to recruit top recruits - Unless they're more content to play the longevity game and develop underrated 4 star guys.

Donovan should get more top recruits with all his grip he can get on player with his affiliation with USA basketball. Also like him as a coach and player developer. Much better than the Kansas school.

Yes, from a recruiting standpoint I see the others behind those I listed at the moment.
speaking of UNC... I DON'T see how they survive this academic scandal, benefits, and obstruction, without major sanctions... and it wouldnt surprise me if Williams abruptly retires for "health reasons" to save face.

I like Donovan as a floor coach a lot. Player developer he's average. Tough to recruit to IF, actually, because it is SUCH a football school. Even in their back to back NC years there was little fan interest.

Last time I checked the players didn't get any share of the admission fees. The scouts are there all the time and when I look at recent Florida guys entering the NBA, they've been the most professional athletes IMO(Current NBA players are Beal, Bonner, Brewer, Calathes, Haslam, Horford, Noah, Lee, Mike Miller, Parsons, Speights and Patric Young)

He even managed to keep Chris Walker in check. He didn't make news a single time after returning to the team even though he barely played.

And as you said great on the floor coaching.

If I'm a young prospect looking at it form this angle, I'm like:

He makes me look good on the floor, he helps me look good off the floor, he either recruits good work ethic kids or helps them develop it.

If I compare that situation with Kansas:

Bill Self plays his weird passive "pass the ball around the perimeter and see what happens" system regardless of personnel.

And I think player development in college is overstated. You're so limited in the time that you're allowed to work with guys.

Quick learners and gym rats will get the reps in themselves without coaches being present and the rest waits until the NBA to develop.

Im not interested enough in the topic to debate it.. but I will say that the kids do care that there's not much fan support.. some like it.. most don't.

Self sucks and is a choke artist.

No need to. Just wanted to give you my opinion how I view the program from the outside..
