Following potential 2015 draftees

I wouldn't trade our pick. I think we're further away than most people do. I'm not about to trade our very raw, talented rookie and a first rounder for somebody who probably isn't going to push us over the hump. Neither would trading our pick. Whoever we pick up in a trade isn't gonna get us over Curry & Thompson, or Durant & Westbrook...our best bet is to try to draft somebody that can be that player, or sign them in FA...I just don't see that player coming over in a trade. Cleveland tried that, and I would bet they are really regretting it.

Brandon Knight's numbers are looking good as well.. and trending the right way. 45%fg, 40% from 3, 90% from the line. 5+ assists per game and 2/1 TO.

Jrue Holiday.. possibility?

Knight is a good player on a bad team, but I don't like how he runs a team. Doesn't have natural vision for a PG. Could potentially pair well with Exum tho.

Wouldn't trade our pick neither as I'm probably more patient than most regarding this. As PKM had alluded to Teague and Holiday are potential targets if we're going with that win now strategy.

Bodhi does have a point though because, remember, we won't have Favors & Hayward forever. If we don't get good soon they may one day get impatient & bolt through FA as well.

I'm really intrigued by this D'Angelo Russell guy though who's already averaging 18 & 5 in his freshman year playing in a tough conference, shooting 44% from 3's. He looks like the guy who could come in and help us straight away ala what Lillard did with POR. They took a punt drafting him (when there were questions about his PG abilities), and they won out.

I'd rather go after a young wing on a cheap contract and then use the cap savings to persuade Goran Dragic to sign as an UFA. I like the idea of a starting lineup of Gobert, Favors, Hayward, Burks (or the new wing) and Dragic and then adding another big to replace Kanter, Booker, Hood, Burks (or the new wing), Exum, Neto and Jingles off the bench. I don't think that there's a single PG on the trade market that's worth jacking up our cap flexibility moving forward, and I think that Utah can make they case that a starting group of Gobert, Favors, Hayward, Burks, Hood and another solid wing is one of the most exciting lineups for a starting PG to consider signing with. Especially if the Jazz are willing to pay a competitive price to get him.

And don't give up on Exum in year one. They need someone to pass the torch to after contracts expire and age catches up with them. Exum has star potential. A good team sees that out as far as possible.

I have this sick feeling the jazz are going to draft porzingis. don't get me wrong I like him but I see the future of favors and Gobert on the front line. Hayward on the wing and hopefully exum at guard spot. the biggest glaring weakness is a 3 and d on the wing, so so Hayward can guard the easier player.

Johnson is the perfect fit for this team.

I feel like I am one of the few that hasn't given up Exum.. I am not even remotely close to that, actually.

I've been extremely critical of Exum lately, but I am nowhere near giving up on him. I want to see how he plays next year. There are some really worrying signs right now, but I am willing to wait it out and see how he progresses and what kind of jump he makes after a summer of work on his body and handle. PGs with his size and quickness and skill don't grow on trees. He has all the physical tools to be a great PG, the question is if he can figure it out mentally...

My frustration with him is so great because I see the potential, not because I don't see anything. I feel like right now, if he tried he can have a WOW moment every single game, but instead he settles to just ... being there.

Never draft "fit" unless your in the mid to late first round. Porzingis' upside is a player that can shoot over anyone and also swats 2-3 shots a game. A player like that would never be available to Utah outside the draft. SFs are pretty plentiful, the Jazz could go and sign Luol Deng next year who brings most of what Johnson is going to give you.

I actually really, really like that idea of Deng. He's only 29 still, foreign (Spurs model), can pass the ball well (ditto), and could bring some leadership we still lack. He also probably wouldn't be that expensive but we're in a situation now where we could overpay for him without it hurting us. Four years, 44M or something perhaps.
