Following potential 2015 draftees

Saw earlier that Devin Booker has a short wingspan. I like Devin Booker's game a lot but his short arms makes me nervous about his potential on the defensive end. I believe length is almost a prerequisite to be a great defender. Here's a list of some of the top 3 and D guys wingspans:

Klay Thompson 6' 9"
Danny Green 6' 10"
Kyle Korver 6' 9.5"
Wes Matthews 6' 8.25"
Paul George 6' 11.25"
Kawhi Leonard 7' 3"
Andre Iguodala 6' 11"

Stanley Johnson 6' 11", D'Angelo Russell 6' 8", Justise Winslow 6' 10", and Oubre 7' 1" all make the requisite length, but Booker falls well short at 6' 6" wingspan.

I hate to reduce a player effectiveness based only on length but I think you could make a very good argument that length matters a lot on the D side of the 3 and D player.

It also means he could struggle to get his shot off in the NBA. Hayward was able to get past it by bulking up and bullying people, Booker looks like he has the frame and athleticism to do the same.

Does not look remotely in the same league as westbrook athletically imo

He is obviously smaller than Westbrook, which is what I think QSH and you are judging him on. If you want to use stats, can go there to, Gordon's finishing % at the rim in LA is superior to Westbrooks, he got paid a max contract for it.

It just seems to me that westbrook gets up off the floor alot quicker (explosiveness) gets the ball way up above the rim (gordon seems to barely be able to get the ball over the rim) and leaves from farther away (more hangtime)

Westbrook looks alot faster to me too

In all honesty, I don't think that the Jazz are going to be anywhere close to D'Russ. Starting Exum was supposed to be a tank move because of his struggles and inexperience, but it seems to have energized everyone. Even guys who were struggling to fit in and find their roles like Kanter and Burke have looked much, much better these past few games. Jazz are going to have to get very, very lucky in the lotto or trade up to get an impact player.

Also, has anyone brought up Justin Anderson?

Best player on the best defensive team who shoots 54% from deep. If there is anyone who is "3&D" in this draft, it would be him, no?

You obviously don't remember what Eric Gordon looked like early in his career (too young?), he threw down on anyone, including one handed lobs in flight regularly.

You are so ridiculously far off it's not worth discussing any more tbh.

I have multiple times. I forget, do we have multiple firsts this year? A haul of Russell early with Anderson later (we would likely have to move up some to get him) could really round out our core. I'd still love some 32ish year old vet for a presence and such but otherwise, that's one hell of a ****ing squad.

Exum-Burke
Russell-Burks
Hayward-Anderson-Hood
Favors-Booker
Gobert-Kanter

Or something like that.

Westbrook is just ultra ****ing aggressive. Makes him seem even more athletic than he already is. I would say Westbrook is the most athletic player in the league actually.
