Following potential 2015 draftees

I guess it depends on how you feel about Oubre, Looney and Booker.

Okafor
Towns
Mudiay
Russell
Porzingis
Johnson

...are all strong

Cauley-Stein
Hezonja

...are nearly as good and have significant upside. That's 8.

Oubre
Looney
Booker

These guys *should* round out the top 10, unless someone really wants Winslow or Turner.

Oubre might be a modest upgrade over Hood. Might be.
Booker is a shooter we could definitely use.

I don't know that much about Looney. I like Lyles just as much, tbh.

Winslow, Turner and Oubre deserves to be in top 10, IMO. Wasn't Klay taken at #11? Then Booker deserves to be at #11 also. A quick peek at DX and they had Hezonja at #10. I mean he could have easily gone top #3 in the 2013 draft.

It's very likely that one of these guys on the bubble would break out and become a star. It's just a matter of choosing the right one. I am confident that the brain thrust of Lindsey / KOC / Sloan would come through for us and pick us a gem.

I guess we could do Kanter + Burke for Henderson + a protected 1st rounder from Charlotte - top 3 protected, maybe? Not sure if it`s worth it, but we`d end up with our own pick + theirs, that would likely be somewhere between 10 and 15 this year.

Russell doesn't have the same body type as Mullin. I'd say Hayward is more similar to Mullin.
Dat skin color body type doe

Kind of surprised, tbh. Not because he doesn't deserve it or because of his stats/minutes, but because (loosely related to the aforementioned) he has had limited ability to showcase his full arsenal. He is a vastly underrated slasher and defender. Not saying he's elite, just that those aspects are not yet well known. He, too, is just an insanely talented scorer. Most UK fans (even the hand full of sane ones) are already saying Booker is the best shooter in UK history. A little early for that crown, but impossible to discount it too.

I think a lot of teams would love to use a #14 pick on a guy they hope could become a Kyle Korver clone. Someone else said the name already. But everything he additionally brings to the table is a bonus.

Saw earlier that Devin Booker has a short wingspan. I like Devin Booker's game a lot but his short arms makes me nervous about his potential on the defensive end. I believe length is almost a prerequisite to be a great defender. Here's a list of some of the top 3 and D guys wingspans:

Klay Thompson 6' 9"
Danny Green 6' 10"
Kyle Korver 6' 9.5"
Wes Matthews 6' 8.25"
Paul George 6' 11.25"
Kawhi Leonard 7' 3"
Andre Iguodala 6' 11"

Stanley Johnson 6' 11", D'Angelo Russell 6' 8", Justise Winslow 6' 10", and Oubre 7' 1" all make the requisite length, but Booker falls well short at 6' 6" wingspan.

I hate to reduce a player effectiveness based only on length but I think you could make a very good argument that length matters a lot on the D side of the 3 and D player.

Have you tried finding guys with a short wingspan who have the reputation of a perimeter defender?

commentators sayin "Book'm!" every time he hits a shot.

awful.

I think it's kinda lame to do these wordplays after a hit.
If you do these you gotta be confident and do it during the shot. Counts for commentators as well.
We got a guy who's automatic from the left corner. When someone swings it to him in games the whole stadium starts a long drawn out "Steeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeve" until he sinks his shot.

I like Booker for the fact that he has a beautiful stroke and some more upside. The youth factor isn't to underestimate. Didn't know that before someone pointed it out how young he is. Overlooked factor that's especially important at such a young age.

I like having a good shooter on the court. Especially since Exum, Gordon and Burks need the ball to be efficient. Korver and DeMarre not needing touches to be productive is a huge reason why Atlanta is so deadly.

If I remember correctly Butler isn't particularly long, I thought he had a small case of alligator arms for his size ?

All I want out of the 2015 pick is a long, freakishly athletic, knock down shooter that always makes the right decision and is a defensive stopper. Thats it.

Ron Baker would be a very interesting guy to look at for us in the 2nd round. He'd be a good fit in both culture, system and team need imo though he may be suspect on defense.

FWIW, at the 2, he's longer than Hayward with a 6'8.5" wingspan.
