Following potential 2015 draftees

All I want out of the 2015 pick is a long, freakishly athletic, knock down shooter that always makes the right decision and is a defensive stopper. Thats it.

I think that is exactly what the Jazz need. I really like Oubre for this reason because he has a 7' 2" wingspan, is athletic, and shoots it well. I'm just not sure if he is a shot creator.

How important is the ability to create own shot in a continuity offense? I heard that the Warriors love Draymond Green because he does everything except for create his own shot - which they don't think really matters much in the big picture.

Most good defenders have excellent wingspans. As Jimmy Butler has shown, it is possible to be a good defender with a poor wingspan, but it's certainly a lot more difficult. Just takes smarts and effort. Hell, even JJ Redick turned himself into a pretty dang good perimeter defender, for quite a few years he was Orlando's best perimeter defender. It's all about effort man.

I know Cy has brought him up before, and while I've never seen him, Tyler Harvey is having a great year.

Averaging 24 points a game, and shooting 48.6% from 3 on 9 attempts a game. 9 attempts!! That's ludicrous, especially because he's the guy on that team that has all of the defensive attention on him. Only a sophomore. It'll be interesting to see if he declares (really unlikely), and how his jr and sr years turn out.

Players I don't know much about, but want to learn more on cause they're having good years/careers:

Desharick Guidry - McNeese State - SR: Listed at 6'5 and 200, he's averaging 17.6/11.7 on 52% shooting and 41% from 3 on 2 attempts a game. I always like guards/forwards who can rebound like this, and it seems like he can at least hit open shots. Don't see how he couldn't at the very least do what Baby Sap is doing.

Josh Hawkinson - Wazzu - SO: Listed at 6'10 and 240, averaging 15 and 10 on 49.5% shooting while shooting 80% from the line. Seems to have a good touch, nice size. At some point could be like Ryan Anderson, maybe.

Jake Layman - Maryland - JR: 6'9 and 205, averages 14/6 while shooting 42% from deep on 3 attempts a game. Long and athletic.

Tyrone Wallace - Cal - JR: 6'5 and 200, averages 18/8/4 on 45% shooting. Good size and production. And I think every team should have a Tyrone.
