Is there a guy we can draft at 24/30 that will get heavy minutes in the near future? I don't see it.
Also would be nice to have someone just in case something happened to rudy.
My gut is telling me we'll draft John Collins if he's there, and my gut might be bigger than yours right now.

Isn't Favors rudys backup? Or do we still think he's a 4 who'll play heavy mins? I say favors becomes rudys backup and plays 10-20 mins. That seems to be what he's capable of playing anymore.
You don't think tyler Lydon couldn't give us good mins? Draft X and nba draft.net have us drafting him at 30. If that were to happen I'd be estatic. Package the 24 with Lyles, next year's #1 and move up in the draft.
We can't afford to keep Favors after this coming season.
Ojeleye, Frank Jackson, any of several back-up bigs, maybe Ferguson, Bacon, Hart...

Sadly I think Favors doesn't have much of a future here, I don't know how much money he gets but someone else will pay him
It's crazy we already talking about Frank Jackson as a NBA prospect, seems like yesterday he was playing for Lone Peak High School. I'll say his rise as a high school prospect was amazing(still a bit bitter he chose Duke, think he could have really starred at the U).. I just wonder how soon he can really contribute at the next level.He is one of the more interesting prospects I'll say that though.

In a deep draft, I'd rather try for a home run then get a guy that isn't at all likely to be as good as Rudy, and only plays one position. U become a contender through the draft, and build depth through free agency

Not saying the jazz are likely to find a difference maker, but that's what will make us contenders
Unless the jazz all of a sudden sign a star in free agency. I don't think that has ever happened.
