What's new

Following potential 2017 draftees...

He's diminutive but I believe Joel Berry (UNC) is vastly underrated in DX's Sophomore rankings at #48.

I think we'll see flashes of Patty Mills this season. He's a great shooter and I like his quickness. 6'0 in shoes with a 6'3" wingspan.

Almost wanna say he could work himself into the 2nd rd.

No doubt that the loss of Theo Pinson hurts UNC this year tho...

Kansas scrimmage today, I correctly identified Devonte Graham last year early. They've got 3 breakout fringe first rd candidates this year LaGerald Vick, Svi Mykhailiuk and Carlton Bragg.

Really like Vick and Self said he's their most improved. Keep an eye on his 3pt shot, if it's good he's definitely a 1st rd talent, and I'd definitely compare him favorably to Tony Wroten. He's got some Jordan Clarkson to his game, possibly some Jamal Crawford.. If he plays really extremely well I could definitely be talked into putting him over Edmond Sumner, who many see as a 1st rd lock.

Bragg has SOME of those T.J. Warren like scoring tricks/instincts in his bag, he's a short armed PF though and nowhere near the athlete of lets say Marqese Chriss, and frankly obviously inferior to Warren.

Svi is the wildcard IMO. I still say he's got 1st rd talent. Ya know who I kinda think his game is going to resemble????? Joe Ingles.

Dedric Lawson is up to almost 240 lbs. Tubby Smith is going to try to get him to be more of a do-it all player this year, and hopefully it should look something like Kyle Anderson. Could be an interesting 2nd round target for the Jazz (to stash) if he's really putting in work in the weight-room. Odds are stacked against him and Memphis this year with a makeshift roster..

From the other day.. Bridges height is a topic of conversation, as he's much more of a SF than SG. My official guesstimate is 6'6¾" in-shoes, which with his build and toughness is fine to play SF vs most matchups, meaning I don't think he's as undersized as some would lead you to believe, he's a solid 1st rd prospect, with upside to the teens.

This big from the Balkans seems to show flashes of Kaminsky on offense.. DX probably has him way too low at #100 in the top 100.. He's like 6'10½" with a 7'1" wingspan..

I think he and his teammate Viny Okuo might be draftable this year.. Definitely stash candidates

6'2" French PG Elie Okbo would be one of the youngest players in this draft and he's going into my next mock. I really like his shot and he's got nice change of pace, reported 6'7" wingspan and he's a lefty. Would be a glorious get in the 2nd rd to stash. definitely a player to keep an eye on. He's DX's top ranked PG in the internation '97 rankings but I've gotta say he looks underrated.. Only seen highlights and one full game tho.

Kind of reminds me of a bigger lefty version of Melo Trimble, I like his change of pace.

Edit - I call dibs on championing the Jazzfanz Okobo hypetrain, this kid is gonna be a solid pro. he's gonna debut in my mock in the 40's

How could a team that just traded a lottery pick for George Hill not like a player like this?!

[Josh] Jackson, the No. 1-rated player in the recruiting Class of 2016, would have it no other way.

“What’s that saying, ‘Use steel to sharpen steel?’” Jackson said with a smile. “Playing against great competition is only going to make you better. The better the competition, the better it is for everybody.”

Jackson said the hardest player for him to guard has been sophomore Lagerald Vick.

“He’s really fast. He can shoot the ball well, has really long arms,” Jackson said. Trying to stay in front of him is almost impossible for me.

“If he blows by me and dunks, I’m just waiting to get yelled at by coach (Bill) Self,” Jackson added, grinning. “Each day, playing against guys like Lagerald and Svi (Mykhailiuk) … it makes you better.”

Wow Ray Smith got hurt again... what a shame.. Arizona's had the kitchen sink thrown at them and the season didn't even start. He could've been a player the Jazz would've looked at if he had a clean season injury free..

Expect Kobi Simmons who's a phenomenally athletic 6'5" combo guard to get way more burn than previously expected. Also we'll see more of Rawle Alkins, both could have fringe 1st rd talent.

This could be interesting if UK misses on some of these guard targets in the coming weeks.. Will they scramble back to Jay Jay Chandler or try to make a move for MJ Walker super late in the process??? Or do they just hope Isiah Briscoe returns?

I kinda wish they had recruited Isaiah Washington as a D option all along. Do they have eyes on transfers or maybe some under the radar 4 or 3-star??

Justin Patton 6'11" RS freshman on Creighton is a legit sleeper !! He put on 25lbs in his RS year and reportedly measured 6'10" w/o shoes, 7'1" wingspan and 9'2" standing reach in the summer of 2014. He's athletic and can shoot. He was on the Kareem award watchlist.

what a ****in' travesty. Ray Smith is one of the best players I've ever seen that didn't even get to college.. Shades of Demar DeRozan

LOL the NBAdraft.net dudes are riding super high on Robert Williams hype. who I've been talkin bout here for at least a year now.

They've got him ranked 15th in the entire class...

15. Robert Williams 6-9 235 PF Texas A&M

Robert Williams
Robert Williams
Possessing an absurd 7’4 wingspan, Williams also is a strong run and jump athlete who really impressed when matched up with peers at the 2015 Nike Skills Academy. At the EYBL level, rim protection was his calling card, as he proved to be one of the most dangerous shot blockers in his class. He also shows a lot of potential as a rebounder and is going to be a dangerous rim-runner who will be a threat to catch lobs. His ball skills and shooting are still raw, though his frame and ability to run the floor should both stand out right away. Williams is a prospect brimming with potential that possesses elite physical tools that could make him impactful in doing the dirty work many teams desire out of their PF. Showing further versatility on offense will likely take time, but he is one of the major sleepers in this incoming freshman group, with lottery talent down the road.

They also have the other 4-star big I've been hyping for a long time JAmes Banks ranked 29!
