Following potential 2017 draftees...

Lmao. Giving up a first round pick in a very deep class for Job Leurs.lmao... Stronghold accept happily. wouldn't even have to give up Trey Lyles. I normally see trades where the Jazz fans over value their players but this one where you are under valuing your pick and over valuing the follow players

QUOTE=Crocodile Dante;1424406]let me ask (i am not saying i like it one way or the other)

Jazz trade #24 Lyles and Diaw to Detroit for Jon Leuers 3 years $30 million and #12?

Leuer only shot 29% from 3 last year (38%, 24% and 47% the past 4 years)

Is it worth it to move up to take on that awful contract and I figure lyles would be in the mix instead of the 30th pick and Leuer and Lyles is very redundent. If i was Detroit in order for me to trade the 12th pick i would want #30 also

would you like it?

obvisouly reading comprehension is not you forte. I looked at it from the pistons not as a jazz fan. For a team to drop 12 spaces in a good draft they had better get value.

Donovan Mitchell working out for the Jazz and Zach Collins meeting with the Jazz at the Combine is likely a sign of their agents just wanting them to have a safety net option in case they drop on draft day. Meet with a few teams in the 20's just in case. There's a lot of beauty is in the eye of the beholder after the first 10 picks or so in this class. Someone is probably going to fall farther than expected. I don't think it means a trade is imminent.

Ugh. Dude, the Pistons aren't moving down 12 spots to unload Leuer and pick up a crappy player an expiring.

The Pistons are over the cap and need to go another $10M - $12M over to extend KCP. They also have a sub-.500 team. They're going to make moves to relieve salary pressure and shake up their roster. That makes Utah an attractive trade partner. If Detroit can take Diaw's deal it saves them having to dump a contract into another team's cap (which usually costs a 1st rd pick), it would keep them away from the luxury tax, and should give them a bit of flexibility to make another deal. Jazz can offer to swap first-round picks and add a 2nd rounder or a bit player.

This isn't a rumor or anything, it's just to say that the Jazz are able to offer cap relief and have an extra pick in this draft. The other team that could do this type of deal is Brooklyn.

A player like Aron Baynes could get added to save the Pistons a few more bucks.

Portland is another team in cap hell that could swap picks in return for Diaw's contract. They have #15.

Are you assuming we are losing Hayward, Hill, and Ingles? I'm not sure what you're getting at with this. These teams would have to send salary back in order for Diaw's contract to help them cut salary.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding.

We take back salary and likely lose Ingles. Or get a cheaper point guard than Hill by about $10M a year.
