Following Potential 2018 Draftees

More Knox. Again, athleticism and mobility look good. Quickness and length are good. Shooting is a bit loose -- he lofts the ball up rather than confidently stroking it.

I watched some of Knox. Their TV announcers keep harping on and on and on about his beautiful and awesome shooting stroke. What am I missing? It looks very unexceptional to me and it like... never goes in. Is he supposed to be a good shooter, because this shot doesn't look like a shooter's shot.

I look forward to seeing how Trent Jr. plays against better competition in college. Based on his HS videos it looks like he's playing at 50% effort due to the fact his competition sucks.

So how good do people here think Doncic will be?

Are you asking where he will be drafted or what is his NBA career will look like? I think he will be drafted Nr. 1 and he is going to be at least Tony Kukoc level player in NBA. They call him European Larry Bird.. but I would not go that far just yet.

I'm asking how good of a career people expect him to have. I've gone back and forth on him, so I'm curious what draft nuts on this site think.

Take Danilo Gallinari on his best day, then assume Doncic is quite a bit better than that. Pretty sure he'll be a perennial All Star.

He has decent touch, including mid-range, but he's never really developed as a shooter. He's always been a guy who just gets to the rim whenever he wants.

Jonathan Givony at ESPN just released a Top 100 prospects for the 2018 draft. It's on ESPN Insider. I'll post the top 15 here and can look up individual names if people want.

1 Doncic
2 Porter Jr.
3 Bagley
4 Ayton
5 Bamba
6 Bridges
7 R. Williams
8 Sexton
9 Jaren Jackson Jr.
10 Carter Jr.
11 Duval
12 B. Brown
13 Walker
14 Knox
15 Justin Jackson

The thing is if he keeps trashing EuroLeague competition even to a lesser degree, no NCAA player can compete with that unless you see some surprising developments and gamble on those traits being more useful 5 years down the road. If he hits a slump and regresses the other players will enter the discussion again, but now it's his #1 draft slot to lose

Bagley could and that's about it.
