Following Potential 2018 Draftees

How many of his shots were blocked, deflected, stripped, etc, in comparison to other NBA prospects? The average ncaa wing?

Did he have some shots blocked, deflected or stripped? no doubt he did. But everybody else did too. What can you show us to help us know whether it was a real issue in comparison to other prospect or payers? Otherwise it seems like an issue you are making up.

I don't have any numbers to back it up. It's just something I see using the good ole eye test. I see that and I see a lot of contested shots.

Here are some videos that show what I mean

I'm not saying he's a bad prospect or anything either. I'm just saying his ability to get separation is questionable to me.

Gordon, is that you? Seriously, lots of people were saying the same thing about Gordon Hayward, who incidentally also shot 29% from 3-pt as a soph. Troy Brown's numbers as a freshman in the Pac 12 are comparable to Jaylen Brown. Troy isn't the same athlete obviously, but he has better ball skills.

He'll be fine, though I agree his ceiling will come down to how well he improves his shooting. But the dude is only 18 for crying out loud.

Ultimately, it's a non-issue. Brown will probably get picked several spots above the Jazz if the Jazz stay at 21. He's in play as high as #12 to LAC.

Hayward shot 44.8% from three as a frosh though

I dunno if he needs to be THE GUY who creates offense in our system where DMitch will have the ball is his hand a tonne and Jingle will also have the ball is his hand a tonne, and we're playing European ball where the ball is moving all the time. We do have DMitch if the offense stagnate and he's elite at creating offense.

If you pair JRob with DMitch, DMitch will have the ball in his hand a lot more than JRob, probably 70/30. JRob just needs to be able to knock down open 3's when called upon and take over some ball handling responsibility when needed.

Also at #21, you're not gonna get someone being 'elite' at many things... JRob is sufficiently quick and shifty, has good size for the combo guard position and he can knock down open 3's at 40%+ rate... to me that is more than you can ask for with the #21 pick.
The whole point is that it's very possible this won't be enough to keep him on the floor, because he does nothing else and is liability on defense. You are much better off getting an above average defender who hits 35% of his 3s than an inefficient creator who hits 40% of his spot up 3s but gets cooked on defense. Also if his off-the-dribble shooting drops to the levels I expect, because of his limitations he won't be shooting 40% from 3... he will be much closer to what Hood was - 35-36% from 3 who's liability on defense.

To anyone who doesn't think JRob can create or isn't explosive or shifty look at 2.53min mark of the video above.

That boy can fly.

He had one year in college where he shot 40.9% from three and you act as if it’s just obvious Robinson is going to be drilling threes at that figure at the further NBA distance.

The one where he can’t get past his guy as he drives to no man’s land, and kicks out an errant pass back out the perimeter? That one?

I strongly suspect this is actually whats going on. The Kings appear to be posturing (bluffing) like they'll take MPJr to try and force a teams hand to trade up, and Porters' camp knows, so this is the response.. My initial reaction to this whole cancelled workout thing was actually right along these lines. Color me a non-believer.
