Following Potential 2020 draftees

Ringer NBA team needs are up now.

Someone’s angling for a raise.

How formidable would the Celtics be if they manage to patch up the few weak spots in an otherwise watertight rotation? It's entirely possible that Boston will find a cost-controlled backup guard in the late lottery to unseat Brad Wanamaker, or a potential rotation shooter to steal minutes from Semi Ojeleye. If Boston is able to consolidate its picks to move up from no. 14, the options only become that much more appealing—and could even give the Celtics a path to a more dynamic playmaking type. It must be nice to enter the offseason with one of the best young stars in the game, a conference-finals-worthy roster, and plenty of options all the same. — R.M.

oh im gonna disagree with that tony jones article being fluff.. That seems legit to me, its got legs. McDaniels is a kid who's watched his older brother go thru this process, and make some misteps, i think in a spot like Utah he'd probably settle in nicely..

Where the Jazz draft a player like that, with his upside, the value is close to too good to pass up.. I think the most important bit is right at the end, talking about his jumpshot, thats gonna be the deciding factor.

Best case scenario i think with McDaniels is u get a Rashard Lewis type of player. Who I think would be quite good in today's NBA.

Rashard Lewis was a 2nd rd pick that never, ever ever shoulda fell to the 2nd rd but he did.. I think McDaniels has that kinda talent..

HAHAHHAHAHHA literally lets just call this right now... I've been so on the $$$ with this draft here in 2020... probably more so than any other one i've posted about..

Seeing Ty-Shon Alexander at #32 in that ringer mock just made my day... I always knew that kid could ball!!! ALWAYS...

HE was a player that long long ago was ranked very highly, and then the services kept knocking him down, all the way to 3-stars someplaces... and it was unwarranted!!!

Thats really cool... and honestly stories like that are why ppl around here cant touch my knowledge.. I hit calls like that YEARS in advance...

Look at the 3 and 4 star players i profiled way in advance of this draft... ya know THEIR SITTING AT THE TOP OF THE BOARD IN THESE MOCKS....... (Patrick Williams, Isaac Okoroh, Kira Lewis) I rest my case... here in this draft is where i rest my case..

YAM MADAR YAM MADAR YAM MADAR YAM MADAR YAM MADAR YAM MADAR YAM MADAR YAM MADAR
YAM MADAR YAM MADAR YAM MADAR YAM MADAR YAM MADAR YAM MADAR YAM MADAR YAM MADAR

Yo it's crazy to me that Vernon Carey is 49th in that mock... How do y'all feel about trading up for a pick in the 2nd rd to secure Vernon Carey?

He's gonna end up being one of the prospects where I kill him and his value during the season (Duke fans were worried they werent going to have a 1st rd pick this year, then Carey started playing really well putting up big stats on high FG%'s and they were convinced he was their ticket to the 1st, and perhaps even the lottery)...... Lettuce not forget DX/ESPN was buying this narrative hook line and sinker early in the season, Carey was projected in the top-20 (Conversely Jalen Smith was projected barely in the top-60, I pointed out then how absurd that was, now the tables have turned and im gonna make the case for Carey in the bottom of the 2nd as tremendous value.

Xavier Tilman is overrated by draftniks this year IMO. Utah taking him in the 1st is a mulligan of a pick and I'd hate it, Grayson Allen-esq low upside.

To me a move like getting Vernon Carey for pennies on the dollar in the 2nd is WAAAAAYYYYYY better value. He;s 2 years younger too.

I think it'd be high upside too. He can play some backup C and some PF. He's a big bruiser of a kid too, he never played with a C like Rudy, and Rudy never had a PF quite like him, Favors woulda been the closest for sure.

much discussion this offseason on "Miami Heat type of players" To me Vernon Carey as a bottom of the 2nd rd pick fits the mold.
