I feel like Kaleb Wesson as an UDFA or late 2nd rd pick is much better value than Xavier Tillman in the 1st, like MUCH. Wesson is 6 months younger and 1.75" taller....
A 6'9.25" without shoes measurement was EXCELLENT for Wesson. Definitely higher than I expected. 9'3.5" standing reach too. He's closer to the dimensions of a real backup C than I realized.
also 12.5% bodyfat for a big like Wesson (252.6lbs) thats solid... NBA teams are gonna liek that... This is a player who used to be at least 270... Probably closer to 300...

Now lets breakdown two of the slowest and lowest jumping players at the combines strength and agility scores; Xavier Tillman and Kaleb Wesson.
Several players chose not to do these tests, here's that list first;
Isaiah Stewart(was gonna put up low vert #'s)
Jalen Smith(more to lose than gain by testing?)
Jayden Scrubb(worried about not posting 40"+ vert?)
Jahmius Ramsey (worried about not posting 40"+ vert? --- I wonder about the split between his standing vert and running, like scrubb above)
Myles Powell(was gonna post pitiful #'s across the board and everyone knows it, no need to embarrass himself)
Theo Maledon(not going to post explosive results which, to me, is kinda crazy seeing as he's got 2.8% bodyfat..... slow agility drill?)
Isaiah Joe (not going to post explosive results... worried about a damning agility drill score?
Elijah Hughes(i suspect he's kinda slow..)

K so back to the comparison;
Kaleb Wesson posts the lowest standing vert measurement at an extremely pedestrian 21" with 27" on the 2-step vert
Xavier Tillman not much better in this area with a 26" standing and 32.5" two-step vert.
They also post about the same sprint and lane agility times.
Wesson posted a respectable 2.64 in the shuttle run tho.. Tillman more bottom of the pack there with a 3.01
Now both of those Vertical #'s are really bad. I can still jump higher than those guys!
If you saw OSU this year, Kaleb Wesson was probably drilling 3's in those games. His forms a bit mechanical but he really did show flashes of being able to heat up from outside. In games they were down and time was running out he'd hit high pressure 3's with confidence.
Xavier Tillman isnt that kind of shooter from deep 29% from 3 this season shooting low pressure 3's.
Wesson is more of like an Omari Spellman type of big IMO. He's certainly got excellent footwork and balance, has had that for many years.

He didn't go far enough. States guards sucked and they played two bigs who couldn't shoot.

I think people are desperate to buy into hype and get too excited about how tall a prospect is.
McDaniels might bust. He might be Kelly Oubre. He might be 80% of Paul Geroge.

What the Jazz really need is a big wing or forward with some size who can drive, draw two defenders, and make a play with a pass. They haven't had that since Hayward left. Maybe Brantley will be able to do that, but I don't get the sense that's he's going to be a starter for a while. This is why guys like Patrick Williams, Saddiq Bey and Aleksej Pokusevski would be really attractive to the Jazz. I don't know if McDaniels will be able to do that or not.

I agree with your general idea here. Not sure S. Bey really fits -- he'll make the right pass, sure, I don't know if he can draw additional defenders through his driving. I guess I'm more hopeful that Woodward can get to this point than you are.
One more question: any idea why Woodard was listed by Miss. State as a guard? I don't know much at all about the team, but it looks likely he started alongside two bigger players and two smaller players -- why didn't they call him a SF?
