Jalen Williams?

Jalen Williams?

Offensively he’s the best comparison I can come up with. Neither is the best shooter or a nuclear athlete, but their overall size combine with a tight handle makes them a force at the rim. I think some would say, “Harper is a PG and Jalen is not”. The labels are just not something I really care about.

I haven't watched a full game of Fleming, but how do we feel about his general floor game/IQ? Is he on the TH side of things were you barely see him dribble? Think Fleming looks great on paper and on highlights, but that's all I've seen of him so far.
Yes, he's kind of on that side. He has a stronger base which gives me some hope he can be a better straight line driver than Hendricks has shown, but his college team doesnt really give him opportunity to expand his game like that.

Two things that are very clear to me about Harper and Ace:

1. Very talented
2. Don't play smart

I think Harper is ahead of Ace in terms of BBIQ, but he also doesn't play in a very optimal way. I think a big part of this is that their current coach placates to their every need and they can do whatever they want. That's fine for now, but a lot of their success will be based on how they receive coaching at the next level and adjust the way they play. Both seem to be good kids, but I don't think it's as easy as flipping a switch. If you think they can adapt, you have a star.
i watched harper a bit and although some shots are head scratchers i think he plays very smart. he plays good defense. i see him drive and kick the ball. smart plays. his defense is better than i thought. the only real problem with harper is will he play in utah.

Last I saw your board I believe you said it would be hard for your top 6 to change at all, and laughed at someone mentioning Edgecombe getting into that group. May I ask what has changed?

Fleming would be a good choice for the Twolves pick. I added him back in. That list is getting crowded though. I'll need to pare it down.

With John Collins holding a player option for next season and with both Hendricks and Cody Williams looking iffy so far, I think the Jazz will prioritize big wings/forwards in this draft. The mid-1st round has several quality prospects to choose from. Incidentally, that Clippers team that beat the Jazz in the Bubble during covid was really well put together, with Kawhi, PG, Marcus Morris and Nic Batum all on the perimeter. Fleming has the right profile and skillset to eventually play that Marcus Morris-type role, rotating at the 4 and possibly the 5 in various lineups. He's one of the best options in this draft to step in and replace much of what John Collins is giving us. He's allegedly super long too.

A guy I've forgotten about, but I really like to start the year: Cedric Coward. He tore his ACL after their first 6 games, so he will probably medical redshirt and return, but if he doesn't, he would be in the top 30

Starting to come to the conclusion that Ace's best case scenario is actually healthy Lauri Markkanen, lol.

-Can't create any separation
-Horrible passer
-Elite shooter
-Elite at the rim finisher
-Very big
-Extremely up and down defender

Had to think of guys this horrible at creating offense and passing that were stars or near stars other than Klay and Lauri though.

The big question is how good Ace's shooting and ability to move around screens actually is.
