Following Potential 2025 Draftees

Demin is like most the prospects in a draft. You are drafting what he could be. He was splitting double teams with a behind the back dribble that lead to a wide open corner 3. Then on defense he was guarding the other team's center. Yes he makes bad decisions sometimes. Yes his strength limits his ability to get good shots. Yes he would be a project. But the upside is there.

I get why people say "he should stay in school" when a player is clearly not ready to contribute in the NBA....but I'm not sure being college vs being in the NBA/G-League is actually better for getting him "ready". Probably a case to case basis kind of thing, but just because Demin is far away does not mean college is the best way to get him there. I think it's actually much more rare for a guy to improve his draft stock than have it sink by returning to college.

I do think for PG's staying in school does help more than any other position.

"Cooper Flagg, go back to Duke or the [Utah] Jazz, brother," Cousins said. "[With the] Pelicans, you'll get lost in the sauce with the Saints." -Boogie

Just a former player being salty, but not often you at a former player mentioning the Jazz specifically haha
