Following Potential 2025 Draftees

Does Ace Bailey remind anyone of Cam Whitmore? Definitively a top 3 pick based on all metrics but GMs rumored to not love something about Whitmore and then he free fell.

I dont know if it is the same situation but some of the Mefirstandthegimmiegimmies comments from Ace plus the GM comments give me that vibe.
Well, there's a lot of difference. Ace isn't giving attitude problems or vaping in the locker room I bet.... Ace is also saying a lot of the right things as well

Wow!
The Jazz roster is very much in flux right now. No position is set and while wing is the biggest need, everything is a bit of a need. Walker Kessler is the only true center on the roster and while he is a great young defensive big, he is lacking on the offensive end, his extension is coming up and there are questions on whether the front office truly sees him as a centerpiece for the future. They might be looking to trade him. Whether Kessler is the primary starter in the future or not, the Jazz have no true center backup. I see Yang as very much in consideration. But there are alot of other centers in this back half of the 1st, beginning of the 2nd range.

Just to list a few of them: Beringer, Raynaud, Wolf, Sorber, Yang

I might be missing one or 2 as well.

In summation, I am not sure. Yang is one of many options at center and just in general. The Jazz have alot of choices in how they want to approach the draft and Yang is one of those options.

As someone has pointed out, I might be wrong about Kessler matching up with Yang in a workout. I will have to look up the exact rules. Regardless, Yang will have a workout with the Jazz to prove his stuff.
Wow!Thanks for sharing so much info. Hopefully Yang could come and then Utah would surely become the most welcomed team in China for the future 5-6 years. Btw, wonder if u know why the NCAA mop guy isn’t discussed much here. He looks pretty like a good shooter

I'm not sure who your talking about, you'll have to be more specific. A picture or a name.

Walter Clayton Jr. I suppose

Yea, he is a great shooter but he is an older prospect (22 years old). In general, nba teams draft more for physical traits, youth, and potential. The older you are, the more you have to show to get drafted. And older prospects will be more scrutinized as they are farther along their development curve. So while Clayton Jr. is good, will he end up being better than the guys like VJ Edgecombe and Tre Johnson who are both 19 years old, who are already almost as good if not better than him right now? There is just more runway with younger guys, more upside so to speak.

Jazz have 1st round picks at #5 and #21. Walter Clayton Jr. isn't a candidate for the #5 so there is less discussion about him.

It's early, but the chatter is fairly consistent in predicting that Edgecombe is going 3rd or 4th. Etiher Ace or Tre should be expected to make it to 5.

Tony Jones keeps insinuating that the guy he thinks will get to #5 is Ace Bailey.
My dream scenario right there.

I dont think so. Ace is POSSIBLY (might all be BS and smokescreens) falling from 3 to 5. Cam fell from top 5 to like 20 something iirc (didn't look it up)
Pretty big difference.
