Not a top 10 prospect imo and not a NBA PG. I think he could be pretty good, but I see him more as a combo guard next to a primary initiator as his best role.

I still like him quite a bit, there aren't 9 players in this draft that have a better case than him, in my opinion. After 2, they all have major flaws.

I agree it's more likely that he isn't a lead ball handler, but thats part of why he is a good prospect because he should be able to play off ball. At least with his upside as a lead ball handler it isn't all just imaginary as that's the actual role he had in college.

I dont think so. Ace is POSSIBLY (might all be BS and smokescreens) falling from 3 to 5. Cam fell from top 5 to like 20 something iirc (didn't look it up)

Cam was considered a top 3 pick candidate on talent but there were some concerns and rumblings. Most mocks had him top 5. Isn't that the same as Ace?

Now, are the concerns the same? I dont know. But it just feels similar to me.

If I remember correctly there were some concerning medicals on Cam as well as he bombed his interviews and workouts. I don't see Ace as having the same problems. People are way overblowing Ace's "problems."

It seems like 16 with Orlando would be a decent spot to target for a trade, maybe using Key to get into that spot since it seems like he’d be a good fit with them? One of Fears/Kas/Demin will most likely be there, I’d love to get one of them to split minutes with Collier and see who develops the best as a potential PG of the future

I guess it would be the same if Ace falls to the 20's or something and I guess he could. After all we didn't think Cam would fall that far so maybe you have a point.
I would bet tons of money though that Ace wont have nearly the same fall as Cam. Again though, I would have bet tons of money that Cam would have at least been top 10

Maybe we could do Sexton instead? Im not ready to pull the plug on Key, though I understand why anyone would be ready.

I think they would play the 2 and help him. Collier needs to reliably shoot off the catch though.

I don’t think people are really remembering or appreciating how much Cam fell. Most mocks had him top-5.

I probably need to watch another game or two of his, but VJ was my biggest draft crush until I actually watched him play a full game it looked like his skill level was so low. He could hardly do anything with the ball, and a lot of his points were set up by his teammates and spot up.

I thought he looked good in the Olympics for the Bahamas team. If I draft him, I’m banking on the athleticism, upside and work ethic helping him succeed. He is a little older than the other guys, which is why I have him 5th. Usually, I can’t say “I’m happy with whoever is at our pick”. . . typically I have a guy or two who stands out dramatically that I want absolutely the most. And I just don’t feel that way this year. I’m happy with any of them.

I just watched about 15 minutes straight of Kas turnovers. I was hoping to see the majority were because he was just trying to do too much, but it was really a mixed bag to be honest.

I would say about half were not concerning and were due to miscommunication with teammates or trying to thread a tight needle, he also turns the ball over frequently with his foul baiting with offensive turnovers or making unnatural movements.

The other half are pretty concerning. He does get stripped by the better defenders he plays against and while I think he is a very good ball handler, you have to be elite to be a lead ball handler in the NBA. The other concerning thing was his turnovers due to athleticism concerns. He would get past his guy and then get stuck in the paint with nowhere to go, or at times tried to get separation and wasn't able to.

There were some careless passes in there as well, but I'm not overly concerned as it happens to everyone, but could be a sign of lack of focus at times.

I'm going to go watch all of his assists now so that I can get back on the hype train.

In general, I don’t pay much attention to draft prospects’ (and rookies’) turnovers because this usually becomes a non-issue for most players as they get older and more experienced (players who like to dribble into walls excluded). Waiting to hear your comments on Kasparas after your deep dive. I’ve done mine, and he’s my guy for our #5 pick.
