With Ace, he just has such a long list of things to improve on which is both good and bad. I think he's unlikely to improve on so many things that he's a star, but he's also unlikely to not improve on all those different areas so his bust potential is low. I often like to look at these shot creator guys in an NBA role first, and I think he's kind of a mesh between McDaniels and Jabari Smith. His skill and athletic ability is more like Smith, but he has a little more crazy to him like McDaniels and if he channels that well he could be a good defender. He has aspects of both, but I wouldn't say he's the best of both worlds either. Has some of the weaknesses that one has but the other does not.
If he's a star, I think he does need to start out with a winning team that puts him in a box for awhile. I think it was really good for Tatum and Brown's development. It's also a dangerous game though because if they stay in that box, ego's will become a problem. We see Kuminga and his discontent, it's also easy to forget that Tatum and Brown were malcontent's in Boston with Kyrie and Hayward. I like him with PHI, do not like him going to a tanking situation like ours. The freedom we can offer is not what he needs.
