Following Potential 2025 Draftees

Honestly, the Spurs dont need Castle, Fox, and Harper. It is silly.

They SHOULD be trying to move maximize the 2nd pick in a trade OR move 1 of the 3 guards OR draft a different player type.

I think Lauri is one of probably 3 - 4 All Stars that could be available. Trae, Zion, Lauri, and Durant are others. Durant is on the wrong side of 36. Zion is a gamble. Trae doesn't fit with the Spurs. Giannis is a no brainer for the Spurs but I doubt he is available.

It's been mentioned before, but there has been discussion about the added importance of the possession battle. I decided to make a quick metric that I'm calling, "possessions added" which is simply Offensive Rebounds + Steals - Turnovers (All per 36 minutes). Here are the top 3 and bottom 3 performers for this metric for each position:

Guards:
Top
VJ - 2.4
Jase - 0.9
Coward - 0.5
Bottom
Traore - -2.2
Demin - -1.9
Sears - -1.5

Forwards:
Top
Asa - 3.9
Toohey - 2.3
Fleming - 2.3
Bottom
Watkins - -0.5
McNeeley - -0.5
Wolf - -0.3

Centers
Top
Broome - 3.6
Zikarsky - 3.5
Khaman - 3.5
Bottom
Yang - 0.8
Goldin - 1.0
Raynaud - 1.2

Still think Asa is a bit underrated just based on his sheer production. Probably the best Freshman in the SEC this year on a per minute basis.

I just got done watching film where he was repeatedly getting bumped off his spot and at times by small Eurpoean guards. Saying he is unplayable was maybe the wrong words, but to act like his strength isn't going to be an issue for a bit is not realistic either. It would be easier for him to be on the court if his skill level was higher, but he's got a ways to go there as well.

I love his potential, and can see the vision, but it feels like there have been other guys like him that don't end up doing much in the league because the skill and or strength never develop as needed.
I just don't see his frame as an issue. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think he can add weight/strength fine and he already plays stronger than his weight.

BPM can be a little funky at the college level, but Coward's -0.6 DBPM against piss poor competition is alarming. I get a little worried that we talk about his interviews and his shoulders more than we talk about how he plays basketball.
It's not though. The highest DBPM on his team that season was -0.2

Or he's just being smart because there's a bunch of teams that could trade up? This is an insane jump.
So he is risking injury to impress teams for what reason exactly? If he's locked in at 2 regardless of any scenario he has no motivation to do more workouts unless he specifically wants the teams to trade up for him instead of going to SA.

Penda's season is over by the way. Did not end up beating Monaco and left on a 11/8/1/1 performance on 4-14 shooting and 0-3 from the line. His team was +2 with him and -17 without him in the 3 game series against Monaco.

somebody posted his numbers against top 100 defenses and they were abysmal. i'm still a fan of his in general, but there are legit reasons to be concerned.

that's penda in a nutshell. huge question mark on the offensive end, but can be be a net positive because he's so elite defensively.
