Following Potential 2025 Draftees

The other thing about Sheppard is that even if we're going to count him out (we shouldn't), why has he failed? He can't shoot. I don't think we start thinking guys who shoot it extremely well cannot shoot anymore. I'm not looking at Kas shooting 43% from 3 and 87% from the line on good volume and thinking that's a warning sign.

If we're going to take warning signs from Sheppard, it should be the things that were predictable and causing him problems. His size, his ability to be a lead ball handler, etc. This is where Kasparas is just a completely different player than Sheppard.

Sure, but he's still a positive defender.
I guess so... but his playmaking and shooting ability from college did not translate at all so far and that is exactly what he was drafted for, (as were many other not-freakishly-athletic college PGs). I think there is little doubt that he was a bit overrated and if the redraft were held now he would probably be selected around 10.

And that makes me really hesitant about the Jazz using their hard earned top pick on someone like Kasparas or Egor. I would be much more comfortable if Ainge could get any of them with the Minnesota pick, though.

They drafted him because they thought he was the best player and could step into a bigger role down the line...

Percentages aren't great, but these aren't exactly "open for a reason" three's. If he keeps this up I could see him approaching the mid first round or potentially higher. He has great stocks+assist numbers. Wide *** shoulders too, gonna have a long wingspan.

Him and Freeman are two guys Im keeping an eye on if they declare

You know the last time the Jazz draft a PG from Illinios it worked out pretty good. He went #3 maybe the fates are aligning. Other than flag, Kas is who i want next. I like Harper i just worry about liking Utah and the comments his father has made.

Now I would not cry if he was drafted as the Jazz would pretty much have his rights for 8 to 10 years. (Rookie and next contract)

I've been curious about him. He wasn't getting much time or touches earlier in the year. Jazz could use some toughness and physicality at the wing.
