Following Potential 2025 Draftees

Shawn Respert shot 48% from 3 on 9 attempts per game his last year in college. Got to the NBA and they didnt let him shoot 3's.

Got to think he might have been a guy who would have good in the modern NBA.

Never heard of him before, but damn, that has to be the craziest volume 3pt shooting season ever.

Good point. I suspect it hasn't, as you say, changed enough. But yeah, not 100% sure.

I've seen situations that feel much more egregious elsewhere. Like there was just a wrestler who came back to college after signing with the WWE and the NFL. Maybe it matters that it's not exactly the same sport?

To your point, if it is possible we will probably see it soon. I just didn't hear about how they reestablished the rules now that college athletes can have agents.

There will be no more cinderellas with NIL+transfer portal.
Sure there will be. Guys who get to the transfer portal will make a name for themselves with those runs then transfer. Certainly I do agree there will be a lower frequency, but it will still happen.

For example, the first Butler team still definitely happens under NIL. The second team? Maybe not.

Eh….idk about that. Hayward, Mack, and Howard could be gone before their first run happens.

It could always happen, of course, but it’s going to be all NIL driven. You might have mid majors with big funding and that enables them to have success, but you will not see mid majors who build organically over several years. It will be so hard to keep a team together when anyone and everyone can just leave and get paid somewhere else. Any time a decent player pops up on a mid major the big NIL schools will scoop them up.
