Following Potential 2025 Draftees

I read that Peek article and it was really odd. For one, it had the wrong teams at the wrong number (had CHO at #6). OK, mistakes happen....but Peek also said that Kon's range was like mid to late first round before the combine?
You find it odd because you aren't in the gyms scouting. Only those that do can be trusted at all. She's smart you are dumb... she's a professional expert lol.

The what if on Kas is if he can make that nasty step back 3 like he was at the first of the season. If he can then that opens everything up and he can initiate offense in the NBA. The other what if is how will maturity improve his turnover problem.

The other thing people down play with Kas is that he is strong and tough. He is not afraid to mix it up with the trees to draw fouls and get rebounds.

You're right, and now that I've been put in my place I now know that CHO is interested in taking Kas at #6 because they need size in the backcourt.
You do know I was joking right? She shamed the X draft experts... only those with access can know ball.

Kas is a better shooter (59%TS vs 53%TS), had better combine athletic testing (is more athletic to my eyes as well), is a better passer, a better defender (both are bad), and created almost everything for himself vs Riley who had a lot of his offense created for him. He is younger and is only has an inch less wingspan. Can you explain to me how you have Riley ahead of Kas? I'm not sure what you are basing that off of.

Kas should probably be in the next tier (7-18 range), but I just like him more and so I bumped him up a tier. The argument for him is that he was the lead ball handler of a good team as an 18 year old who was pretty efficient, and so that should be theoretically possible for him to be a lead ball handler in the NBA. And if he isn't good enough to do that at the NBA level then he should easily have the ability to play off ball. So for me he has high upside and a high floor.

I know you've said that you don't believe in the upside, so I get not having him top 10, but the high floor should keep him in the top 15 range, in my opinion.
I like Kas for this reason as well. As a Zags fan, have enjoyed watching their offense evolve over the years. However, a 2 PG system has been a fairly constant approach. Pacers are showing how that could look with Nembhard/Halliburton. Has good size. Don’t think he is top 5 though but if he slips would love to get him later

Drafting a wing who isn't good at shooting or defense is probably not a good idea in the first place, but Riley has a lot of areas where he has potential and could improve. Nothing good yet, but seems to be a high feel guy at least.

I've struggled to find comparisons to him as a prospect or as a pro. All around wing sound nice, but who even is an all around wing that isn't a star? Rui? Tobias? Levert?

I mean, he's pretty good at scoring at the rim as evidence by the graph someone posted earlier where he has one of the higher rim% and finishing %'s.

I think Levert is a solid comp. Physically he's fairly identical to Hayward, just a bit taller and skinnier, but Im not sure how much Hayward weighed after his Freshman year at Butler.

The main reason I was out on him early is because everything I read about him was that he was just a gunner, and his shot looks legitimately awful sometimes with his lower body flailing and arm flick thing he does like he's willing to the ball to the rim. In the back half of the conference schedule he really improved his playmaking to be pretty tantalizing for a guy his size to go along with his off-ball ability. I really like his pacing in the PNR. When you get a guy his height who can manipulate the defense at his own pace, you can get a ton of easy looks, especially for a guy like Kessler. That's kind of why I see some Joe Ingles in his game. I think he would have been an excellent prospect under Snyder with the way Snyder excelled at teaching players to play in the PNR.

When you stack him up against Ace Bailey offensively, there's a lot to like about Riley over Bailey.

I dont think his defense is Sensabaugh's level bad as a prospect, but the extremely low stocks are concerning.

Here are the adjusted for SOS numbers. This makes a huge difference for a few of the prospects, specifically Tre Johnson. I don't remember Tre missing any games, so it is confusing to me why his strength of schedule was so different on/off the court?

These Ace Bailey On/Off numbers definitely fly in the face of the idea that he was just an empty calories player.

I can kinda see him as a Walmart version of Hayward. Maybe that means he’s Rodney Hood without anxiety issues, but he needs some kind of large immediate jump that will get him on the court. Path to contributing is his so hard if you can’t shoot or defend.
