If I were Charlotte, I'd either take Tre Johnson or trade back with Utah or Washington and take Kon or Maluach. The presumption is that Lamelo and Brandon Miller are already high-volume shooters.

if you don't like maluach (me!) and you're worried that the jazz do like him, just keep reminding yourself he's a legit 7'2" and he's Ace/Fears level young.

I just think him becoming as good as Kessler is an upper level outcome for him. We already have Kessler, and I like watching Walker play.

no question. his block rate is pretty embarrassing for a 5 with his physical profile and tools and he had about 5 steals all season.

My concern with Maluach is that he doesn't process and react fast enough to stay engaged at NBA speed. It's essentially the same issue that Mo Bamba had. Outside of certain situations where he's perfectly positioned, the game just goes by him. This is one of the ways where guys like Kessler and Gobert are superior. They can really read and react. Personally, I might prefer Beringer.
