Following Potential 2025 Draftees

i'm not doubting he does know some or even most of the time but i wonder if the jazz are being more tight lipped specifically this go around, drafting at 5, with austin ainge in here playing a bigger role, etc.

ultimately they probably are not being more secretive and he probably does know, just considering the possibility he might not.
You got to think an org is made up a ton of parts. Tony might not know exactly what the head decision makers want, but he might know some % of the people who are giving their opinions to those people.

Since we did the pod with Tony I will say.... he knows quite a bit more than he shares. He's mentioned things a couple times to us pretty early and then stuff comes out later. So I think following the bread crumbs is really reliable with him.

I was looking up some offensive ratings for players on Barttorvik and was shocked to see that Maluach has an offensive rating average of 140, which is an insane number to have. Just for comparison, both Kon and Flagg averaged an offensive rating around 120 on the same Duke team. I have also rewatched some Maluach stuff and am coming around on him a bit. If the Jazz could get a good package for Walker... I'm more thinking that Maluach could be a sneaky great pick.

Tony Jones went on Yossi Gozlan’s podcast just an hour ago.

Things of note:

- The Jazz would trade Lauri Markkanen and Walker Kessler for the right offer. Nobody is untouchable.

- Doesn’t see Utah moving up to 3 just because it’s the same tier as pick 5.

- The Jazz could get a haul from the Lakers for Walker Kessler so doing that coupled with drafting Khaman Maluach would be interesting. (speculation not reporting)

- Best case scenario is one of VJ Edgecombe or Tre Johnson being available 5.

- Utah would likely choose between Ace Bailey, Khaman Maluach, Jeremiah Fears or Kon Knueppel at 5 if both VJ and Tre were gone.

- Jazz are expecting to bring in Ace Bailey, VJ Edgecombe, Khaman Maluach, and Kon Knueppel in for workouts before the draft.
I like most of that. Good news.
Btw I was out camping for a while when all the Austin Ainge stuff surfaced. I thought I saw something about how we are not going to tank. That is BS right? Jazz going big game hunting and trying to sneak into the playoffs for a first round sweep?

like the back to back dunk contest champion is white? ppl are on crack it's a bad look. wake up y'all it's 2025

There are definitely exceptions to everything. I dont think anyone would/is saying that every black man is more athletic than every white man. Or that there are no white men that are athletic. That mac maclung dude can fly. I wonder if white dudes have typically won the dunk contest throughout nba history or its more of an exception? But it does seem that when it comes to sports that are heavily focused on speed and jumping ability in the US (not sure about other countries) that black men dominate them despite there being way less black men than white men playing those sports. Also like was mentioned earlier, not a lot of non black dudes winning gold medals in the 100 meters

Hugo actually measures pretty closely to the rumored measurments for Kuminga. He's been a longtime comp for Hugo, but I didnt really buy it because I thought Hugo was more like 6'6 in shoes w/ a 6'7 wingspan or something.
