What's new

Following Potential 2026 Draftees

We have been losing on purpose...
Svi is third on the team in minutes. Lauri is top 11 in MPG. Love has played more than Taylor or Cody. Only one contusion game missed.

We can do better. There are at least three games that could have flipped if we were doing some small things to put our finger on the scale. We'd be in prime position.

The less we do now, the uglier it will be at the end of the season. If the basketball gods exist, they do not care about playing TH and Cody lol. Did everyone forget that we traded Sexton and Collins for basically nothing this summer? And those were Nepo's best moves.

Pop ran Sochan at point guard lol. And that was after the gods blessed SA with Wemby.

Simply ramping down Lauri's minutes a touch or sitting him on the backend of B2Bs, eliminating Love minutes for Cody/Taylor, reducing Svi's minutes by 40% for Cody/Taylor/Brice... we'd be 5-18 and sitting in third.

Out of the mouth of unofficial jazzfanz podcasters, Cody shall play point and keyonte will be developing his off the ball skills for 30 mpg.

Svi needs to be developed. All these players are people who can't just be tossed to the side to lose games. There's a bigger human element to these decisions than your faction wants to think about

It matters as much as it did for SAS, OKC, CLE, TOR, DET, HOU, ORL etc. It ends when you get good players, and it doesn't matter how you get those good players.

If you hate tanking because of the principle and/or because it sucks to watch, I respect that. If you think there is an actual strategic option better than tanking, I am so open to that and would to hear how. Like if we have a Haliburton or Harden trade cooking to turn the franchise, that would be best case scenario. But miss me with this ethical or winning culture crap. Especially when this team can max out at like 30 wins if we did our very best. Svi and Nurk are not Don and Rudy. We suck either way lol.

I had previously stated that the 5-8 range was looking very strong, but that group has really been slumping and only Flemings is really standing out. I'm sure I'll go back and forth about this a lot, but what's certain to me is the top 4 this year is amazing. All star or better is median for all top 4 guys IMO.

Svi was literally on the cusp of being out of the league. If he is part of the reason we draft 7th instead of top 4 then we should have waived him this summer and we'd be much better off for it. If you told him you were picking up his option next year instead of trading him to a team that might have him on the fringe of the rotation... but the trade off was he plays 10 less minutes a night... I'm guessing he'd be cool with that.

We can waive Anderson, Love right now and I promise the franchise will survive lol. They can literally be tossed aside. We survived last year somehow when we benched much better players for the sake of the tank. It ain't that deep.

You know very well that won't ever happen. The dude is playing at an All Star level, is healthy and is 28, not 38. Sitting Lauri on back-to-backs would be so blatant that it would bring more unwanted attention from the league office. We already spent one get-out-of-jail-free card with this mystery illness of his.

This "we can tank with Lauri" thing has been biting the Jazz in the *** for years now (not that I'm complaining, I hate the tank). That's exactly why he should've been traded at the 22-23 season deadline as Ainge kneecapped the team anyway.

I like Flemings, would like Peat if he had any kind of jumper, Hannes is really intriguing. I think Brown Jr. is good but kinda duplicative (but might be better?) than what we have. Ament I am not sure on but I see why he has some fans. I think its pretty good in that range but maybe not spectacular.

We literally did it so kick rocks.

Amari Allen on Alabama has some interesting numbers. Good stocks + assists for a wing. He's someone to watch.

Also...are we paying enough to Philon's production right now? 30/4/8/2 per 40 on 65% TS and 40% 3FG%.
