Following Potential 2026 Draftees

It hilarious that people explain Presti like “he just got lucky to always have the stuff people wanted to buy”. Yes… lol. He spun out a washed Serge Ibaka into the stiff he sold for PG and sold that for SGA and a **** ton of picks… then sold off Westbrook… got assets to take Al Horford… got assets for Al Horford. Same with CP3. Has drafted with an ideology and acquired rotation players out of thin air.

Discussing a FO’s record is often a pointless exercise. People have already decided what narrative/opinion they want to go with then they decide if a move is skill or luck to fit that. Very few things outside of the lotto are completely black and white.

No one is saying he isn't good. The major building blocks to their success are products of the unexplainable pull Westbrook has as a great teammate among NBA players and Kawhi Leonard making the PG trade a package deal

It’s the notion that he’s lucky. Not really. He had a cap change that allowed the fuggin mvp to leave for nothing. He’s had less luck than like 90% of the GMs that have put together title teams. The Westbrook “credit” is hilarious. Russ is part of the reason KD wanted to bounce. Presti clearly got PG to re-sign with the understanding that he’d move him if he wanted later and it was the way for PG to get the most money anyway.

The dude absolutely just dominated the other GMs in the league. Everyone has a few things break their way. He took full advantage of every break.

Look, being good creates more opportunities for luck, but he was gifted a very lucky series of jackpots centered around Westbrook.

Is this board really having a conversation about Presti being lucky? The dude is on his way to being the best gm in history. He is also on a crazy role right now snagging secondary pieces in the 2nd half of the draft and free agency.

Dort
Wiggins
Jaylin Williams
Isiah Joe
Ajay Mitchell
Kenrich Williams

I think we can probably add Brandon Carlson to that group in the future. He has also missed on a ton of 1sts but he is always swinging for high upside guys and has constantly replenished his future draft capital to continue taking risks without being a detriment to the teams future.

I think he’s had less luck than most average GMs. Wild to think that Russ is the reason Presti is goated.

Sucks to open this thread and rather than find discussion about prospects- which, ftr, JF does better than any board I’ve found- it’s two straight pages talking Sam effing Presti.

I get it, it’s a message board - tangents happen. Just hope it ends soon.

Cameron Carr/Baylor have had about a week off from games so not much to talk about.

Just not much happened yesterday specifically. Illinois played I guess. Stojakavic had a good game. I'm not sure what to think of Keaton Wagler yet.

Wagler didn’t look like a 1st rd prospect to me when I watched him against Bama. Looks like a dude who will be a very good 4 year player at the highest level of cbb. But that’s one game - the 5th of his career, so probably pretty dumb of me to even go there.

Cayden Boozer is someone I'll probably end up having relatively high on my board. He's got OKC guard written all over him.

Interesting. I’m still completely in the dark about him.

Apparently he shot it really bad pre-ncaa so that's something to keep an eye on, but he looks to have really strong role player attributes. I'm going to be extra high on smart, defensive guards and he looks the part.
