Following Potential 2026 Draftees

Sorry, just catching up. I had to point out one thing.

How did Sam Presti get Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis? Rob Hennigan stupidly traded him those two for Serge Ibaka.

Rob Hennigan was fired just 10 months later.

8 months after being fired he was hired by OKC to be Sam Presti’s assistant GM.

Not quite Nico Harrison but that’s pretty disgusting.

That wasn't considered a fleecing at the time. Serge was reportedly 27 and still in his prime. Vic had disappointed a bit and Sabonis was the 11th pick in a meh draft.

Neither guy played all that well in OKC... they didn't explode until much later in Indiana.

Alabama with a crazy schedule so far. St John's, Purdue, Illinois, and then Gonzaga tonight.

They will also play @UNLV and then have Arizona next month before getting in to SEC play.

Bama zags game

Philon —really like him. SGA like with the ball in his hand. Seems to need the pick n roll though to separate.

Ghraham Ike—not sure what I think. Maybe more of a euro big. If he was a couple inches taller…

Tyson grant foster—not a good enough shooter to make it in the league and to old.

Braden Huff—mix of drew timme and KO. Needs to be a bit better at what both those players do well to make it.

Mario st supery—still a little young. Think he needs one more year. Interesting backup PG option for a team

Watch out for the zags this year

I like TGF for a SL roster spot / camp invite. He'll give you no offense but he could slot in as a top-flight perimeter defender immediately. 6'5, 6'11 wingspan, LIVE athlete and a bulldog.

I would really like to end up with Tugler. I think he has some playmaking/passing ability that might get him by on offense in Hardy's system.

Let’s first get back to the question of whether Sam Presti is elite or not. He turned a declining Serge Ibaka into Paul George. Then into Shai and owning the Clippers draft. Sounds like elite work, especially if you realize that that means he turned four draft picks in three years into four MVPs.

Follow up to that if Presti is just lucky or whatever: someone list off all the times Presti was on the wrong side of a deal? There was Harden of course (his hand was forced, and obviously so in real time). The only time I thought they screwed up was when they traded Ibaka and we just went over that. A tremendous amount of success and failure is driven by luck, but it cuts both ways, especially over a 20-year period.

Lastly: trading a declining Serge Ibaka for a package that no one thought was far off one way or another is not the same as trading nothing (obvious to anyone paying attention that Davis cannot stay healthy, and those picks will probably be trash) for the most decorated 25 year old player ever. And IF there was anything shady about the Ibaka trade (I truly don’t think there is: I guarantee nobody thought so at the time), how does that undermine the point that Presti is ****ing awesome at the job of managing the roster and assets of a franchise based in THE ****iest place in the entire league (bar none, hands down)?
