Following Potential 2026 Draftees

I’m still not sure how to assess play vs mid majors compared to play vs real competition. It feels like it should definitely matter, but I haven’t seen much literature on it. There’s was some twitter user who made the argument that BPM drop offs really matter, but I came away unconvinced.

Demin was a guy who had major issues against top competition. Any other guys like that come to mind?

As of Monday, BYU’s freshman phenom is leading the country in scoring at 23.1 points per game, doing so on 58.6% shooting from the field and a true shooting mark of 67.1%.
 
Seems like all the popular evaluators are highest on DP. None are concerned about his injuries. Most tend to think he should just shut it down and believe it’s a sign of high character that he’s even trying to come back.

Guess you can spin it anyway you want.
 
Shouldn’t be concerned about fit at #1, but Peterson is near perfect. The ability to play on/off the ball is great and I believe him to be the best defender out of the top 3 as well. He’s going to be my #1.
 
I've always thought Jefferson was a good passer, going back to last year, but when you put it all together like in these highlights it really pops, he's a GREAT passer.

Jefferson vs Yaxel is actually kind of an interesting comparison. They both play major roles on really impressive teams this year. Jefferson is a year younger and is a better passer. Yaxel is the better/more disruptive defender (in my opinion) and a better shooter.

For me I wanted to see him more in college... for an actual scout they have seen him so much I am not sure a full college year matters.

While I don't love this injury I can see how a soft tissue injury can linger. I don't see it as an indicator of future injury unless this has happened in HS too.

I likely have him #1 and him sitting may be the best thing for us personally as it may cause him to slip by some team that sees these guys as all equal. Tony has told me a couple times and I think he said it on the pod that Peterson would be #1 for the Jazz. Doubt a hamstring changes that.
 
I think the cool thing about this draft is the top 3-4 guys are making cases to be #1 for the most part. DP is only disappointing because of availability. When he is on court you can see it. #1 pick is a question because guys are living up to the hype.

I think AJ will be more and more impressive as the year goes on. He just isn’t instinctive on ways to beat different defenses and how physical he can play. It has already started with last 5 games.
