Following Potential Draftees - 2019 (not kidding)

Interesting site. I'm trying to figure out their methodology, but at least it's some model to do apples-to-apples comparisons.

Kabengele draws comparisons to Karl Towns and Andre Drummond.
Bazley draws comparisons to CJ Leslie and Hakim Warrick.
Samanic draws comparisons to John Henson and Harry Giles (not sure about pre-injury vs. post).
Gafford comps to Jarrett Allen.
Claxton comps to Thon Maker.
PJ Washington comes in better than you'd expect, comparing to MKG and OG Anunoby.
Dylan Windler actually measured out in the same neighborhood as Bazley.

Kab, Bazley, Gafford, PJ and Windler are all solid NBA athletes.

To me, he is the guy without a doubt worth trading up for. He is the present and future of the NBA - versatility, length, defense, ability to shoot, coachable, etc.

He isn't 19 until December. If we hit here, it's a grand slam. A SF/PF with that athleticism and ability to shoot? Fits our needs perfectly.

Go for it DL.

I'd agree (though ability to shoot is very much up in the air), but the Jazz just can't trade up high enough unless he really falls and someone decides they really want Grayson Allen.

Even when they got Mitchell, it was incredibly lucky he dropped a few picks lower than projected and that team wanted Lyles. It's really out of the Jazz's control unless everything aligns perfectly.

PJ's are just length comps. He didn do athletic testing so they cant compare his athleticism.

He interviewed really well. Sounds like the personality of the guy the Jazz like. He could be a bit similar to Millsap, though his rebounding numbers were a bit soft.
Id compare him more to Jabari minus the bad intangibles and commit to not play defense. At least athletically and body wise. Not saying he's that gifted at scoring.

I've also decided I like Eric Paschall a lot more than I did a week ago.

I'd be fine with that pick. I like the general idea of Ty Jerome, but I don't think it works for him... to much athletically and physically stacked up against him.

I think the most meh guy to take at #23 is Cameron Johnson. I just don't hate any guys in our range this year... I would understand any of them really.

He has Combine numbers from a year ago and did a pro day at UK last fall. I see those numbers aren't registered though.

Actually, if I dig into the Windler numbers, they're a bit soft on size/strength.

At least Johnson has an elite skill. Nothing about Jerome is elite and he has several below average qualities. Dont get anyone's love affair with him. I was shocked when he started appearing as an early 2nd round pick. I thought he was more than undrafted type.
