It’s worth mentioning here that the Celtics are obviously tied to plenty of potential trade outcomes. They have three picks in the first round, and figure to be in the mix to move up or down the board under Danny Ainge. Additionally, they figure to potentially be in the mix for veterans in trades given their mix of trade chips. So yeah, there are a lot of potential moves here. In regard to prospects, the Celtics are as diligent as it gets when it comes to bringing in players and doing background intel work. They’ve brought in around 80 players thus far for workouts. They’re spreading the net wide this year, which is unsurprising.
Bitadze has been a pretty consistent riser on this board throughout the year, to the point where NBA teams think there is a real chance he ends up in the lottery and very little chance he falls out of the top-20. Bitadze was tremendously productive this season against a high level of competition in the Euroleague, averaging 12.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game. That’s top-20 in scoring, top-five in rebounding, and first in blocks. albeit in a limited sample size of 13 games after he arrived late to Montenegrin club Budocnost via transfer loan. He also possesses the ability to step out and knock down shots from distance, something essential for a player who isn’t the most mobile and won’t be a switch player in the NBA. Another player to stick out here is Herro, as he had a terrific workout with the Celtics earlier this week.
