Following Potential Draftees - 2019 (not kidding)

I haven’t watched a ton but he swatted AD a few weeks ago and I was like WTF was that. He seems to move well, shoot well, and has size.

I don’t fault our FO for missing him as there was almost no buzz on him at all... just shows that actually using those second rounders on guys that may/may not work out... you can tell pretty quickly sometimes when you are on to something.

I like Kurucs in the 2nd round. He went before our pick, I think, and the Jazz traded with Houston.

There were some on here talking about him... you were probably one of them.

It's like the slogan for the lottery..."you cant win if you don't play." What can the Jazz do with spare cash, other than increase earnings? It's not like they've been spending the money they've received for players. Jazz were bottom-3 (if not last) for around 4 years, spent in a half-*** attempt to retain Hayward and are again in the bottom half of the league. Lindsey always talks a good game; i.e. maintaining "financial flexibility" in order to be players in free agency. But surprise, every year he's astonished at the price teams are willing to pay for free agents. He's wasted/sold so many 2nd rounders. Just imagine had he found a couple of decent rotation players. The team would be better and he'd have some trade capital. Instead he has a few players he won't trade and a ton that have very little trade value.

Well said. I have never had a problem with DL's intent, just his lack of initiative and negotiation skills. Just like I love that Korver is on the team, but I truly believe that we could've gave up less assets to get him.

Romeo Langford has to be a lottery pick. He's going to be a good player in the NBA.

He's probably a top 10 guy IMO. He can't really shoot from deep, but he has really advanced scoring touch and is long.
I like him a lot. I think if he gets in with a team that can develop his shot he can be a steal of the draft. Like Cy said he has the physical profile, the touch and some good level skill to his game. He's one of the better prospects in a suspect draft. I wish he would fall to us, but the way things are going I doubt it happens.

And I've watched all the Iowa games since conference play, and I do see what PGAB says about Wieskamp. He's a guy who could be a lottery pick next year if he shows more stuff on-ball. He's a damn good shooter with a 6'10+ wingspan.

If DL can get him somehow, we'll have our own "Pascal Siakam".

Hunter is more like OG Anunoby than Pascal Saikam, imo, but his offense looks to be developing fast. He's using subtle hesitations on his dribble-drives and he's got some jab-step, mid-range moves that look a bit similar to Kawhi Leonard. It looks like he's been studying tape of Kawhi.

8-8 FGs, 6-6 from 3. yeah, he can play a bit.

let me ask you though, Cy, i didn't see the game, but what did you think of dosunmu of illinois? he didn't have a great game, especially from 3, but otherwise how did he look?

to bad hunter is going to be out of reach. jazz would have to trade up to get him

I think Hunter has a solid chance at having a career as good as Zion Williamson. I'm not sure exactly how Zion's bulk and power are going to help him at the next level, and I think he'll struggle with NBA length. Last year, Miles Bridges routinely made dominating plays with his athleticism--blowing past guys and dunking over guys--but in the pros, he's had limited success trying to get the same looks. It's just a different game. At 6'6", Zion is going to have to be more of a jump shooter and he's going to have to tighten his handle. The guy Zion may resemble in the pros could be Paul Millsap, imo.
