Trading for Conley at the deadline made sense. Rubio, Thabo, Udoh and a pick for Conley. They clear cap and we keep Favors and have the MLE (9ish) to use for upgrades. We could have seen how much Conley helped during the playoffs so we would know what we have going into the summer.
Trading for him now is terrible.
We kill all cap room, lose Favors, only have the BAE ($4ish). We don't know how much better if any he makes us.
When was the last time a 32 year old player outside of LeBron was expected to go to a new team and elevate the play as much as some of you are expecting?
