What's new

Following Potential Draftees - 2019 (not kidding)

A lot less athletic than stockton. If we want to compare him to jazz, Joe Ingles is the guy.

Except Jingles looks slow but is fast while Ty Jerome really is slow. He's crafty as hell though. And how much should the fact that he played a big role in getting his team a national championship play?

Okpala is a solid and safe pick if he's there at #23. I think Bazley's explosiveness and footspeed gives him more upside, but Okpala could step in as that third or fourth starter who complements others on the floor similar to a Nic Batum. He's probably just a year away from that kind of role, imo. That's a good pick in the late first round. He has more passing ability than he showed at Stanford, in part because they had limited offensive options worth passing to.

LMAO, yeah even to my surprise. I knew Okpala was the best prospect on that team preseason, there were sooo many ppl thinking Oscar Da Silva was a much better pro, which looking back, is hilarious, this was really divided between the international crowd and the domestic too when u look at it... PPL dont understand the way the rankings really work,. They look at the list and see it in order, static, but you've gotta understand which way the numbers are heading, that is just a snapshot,, things are really in motion, always....

KZ is a good player to make this point about tho, his motion in the rankings was ez to predict and falls in line with many other 1st rders i've pointed out years in advance.. He's a prototype type of late-bloomer, 10-inch growth spurt, whos gonna get a major re-adjustment up near the 5-star territory, and then pretty much he's gonna keep trending up..

From the time he 'blew up the rankings' 3 summers ago, his stock has only steadily increased..

What a bizarre year for west coast basketball, i'm quite sure we'll never see anything quite like that again...

LOL. Of all these players and comparisons we discuss, Fox v. Ball, will probably always be my all-time favorite... Because it encompasses so much of the BS involved with these sorta stories...

I have a friend who's a lakers fan and I texted him the morning of that draft, "Today will live in infamy. You and all Lakers fans will roo the day the Lakers passed on De'Aaron Fox for Lonzo Ball."

Ya know what his response was that day;

"De'aaron Fox can't shoot!"

The detail about Magic Johnson wanting Fox over Ball is just the cherry on top too LOLOLOLOL.

I definitely don't listen to his draft podcasts for his analysis. The dude's got very loose lips and he's essentially telegraphed what Utah does in the draft since like 2011 when he was salivating over Alec Burks.
Fair enough and keep up the good work! I love taking shots at the media they make for very easy targets.

With alot of these sports ppl paid to run their mouth --- I just wonder exactly how into it they really are when their off the clock. I smell ********.. Is Locke sitting there cramming in SEC basketball games all season long??

and Locke has worked in this area how long?? He saw most of Paul Millsap's time here right?? How could some pro sports pundit, who watched hundreds of Paul Millsap games debunk Grant Williams game so thoroughly before he steps in the league?? it just doesnt add up to me, i smell ********.

cuz what is their job really about? basketball? not really.. It's more about... presentation...

his job is more to sound coherent to fill airspace rather than make astute points.. Call it the; Screamin A Smith and Skip Bayless affect (those fools are the big fish! can u believe it?! I would offer up as proof, that this country is full of morons, that these media personalities could rise to such heights..)

and honestly Locke seems to me more the type of person who's probably doing plenty of overtime work but it's probably like kinda irrelevant stuff. I've heard plenty of what he has to say thru the echo's of this forum, and he just has no ground to make those claims botu Grant Williams at this point.

LMAO NBADRAFT HAS KAMBENGELE going 10th!!!

U will find nothing but spectacular bumps, way ahead of the consensus, from me on him back in the day... I was definitely posting about him as a RS Freshman...

I always told u guys I will be more accurate with the bigs and I was a huge Siakam fan, Capela, Rudy... this kid.Got quite a few hits on falling 1st rd bigs -- I'm really high on Harry Giles still too, he just needs to stop fouling. I believe in Skal still too, much more than Thon Maker at least.

PPL dont even remember this but when Kambengele first showed up they listed him at 6'9" and 250lbs.... AND at SF......) so I picked up onthis immedieatly, he was a canadian import, had lots of signs of a 'sleeper' overlooked to me... I posted bout him here tho and also FSU has been crushing expectations, i've been on the leonard hamilton FSU bandwagon for years, I've always said i like their recruiting strategy..

I didnt even know he was related to Moutoumbo til this season started and they said it on some broadcast..
