If his last college game is what he's bringing to the NBA, then I'd say, in five years, he's got a really good chance to be your Provo area Isuzu dealer.

I really think his calf was bothering him last night. I've seen a lot of him over the years and he just looked off physically, which in turn made him off his game mentally. Reminded me of the games where he tried to play with Mono last year.

I'm certainly not making excuses though, as I've always been firmly on the Jimmer is a borderline NBA player side forever, it's just that I think yesterday was a bad introduction for anybody that has never seen him.

I did admit he had an off night. Did you not read my post?

But 32 points for an off night doesn't exactly scream CAR DEALER to me. If anything, it tells us exactly what most already knew, Jimmer is a legit NBA player. He's not a top 10 player. But will be a solid pickup in the mid-first round.

We actually have no idea if the Jazz are even remotely interested in Jimmer. I guess it's just easy to connect the dots because he's a white boy who already lives in Utah.

Seems like so many people are critical of Jimmer's defense. My question is, why isn't Jimmer a better defender? The guy seems quick enough on the college level, seems to have a great attitude and seems to just as competitive as he possibly could be. So what's stopping him from being a better defender? My guess is that he likes to shoot much more than he likes to defend, and that's a red flag for me.

Jimmer is not quick. He's quick with the ball. Not the same.

40% shooting from 3 is 1.2 pps
50% shooting from 2 is 1.0 pps
Free throws will help your pps because if you are fouled it doesn't count as a shot, and you get the FT points.

Jimmer has a better PPS than Nolan Smith, Kemba Walker, Brandon Knight, Barnes, Terrance Jones.... and that's all I checked.

If you are going to say he only scored 32 on how many shots.... realize all the other good players people are drooling over do less per shot, and the ones that do better are going to go 1-2-3 in the draft.

Derrick Williams and Kyrie Irving are amazing when it comes to their PPS.

If CJ scored 32 points on a shooting night like that you guys would be all over him. Ferdette puts on a great show, as long as they go in. It's fun to watch a guy chuck up ridiculous shots and hit nothing but the bottom of the net, but it would get old real fast if he was losing games for you in the process, and that's what I believe he'll accomplish in the NBA. I hope he lands on Golden State or the Clippers or some other perennially bad team because he'll get to keep putting on his show and I will get to watch it from time to time if I want, but I won't have to see his lousy shot selection and terrible defense drive the team I cheer for down the drain.

What is not fair is comparing Jimmer's season of 1.40 PPS to CJ's season @ 1.13.
Jimmer is more efficient in points per shot taken.

Despite what Thriller thinks, my problem with Ferdette has nothing to do with a BYU bias. I want a team that can hit three pointers, but I don't want a team that depends upon three pointers because those sorts of teams rarely go far in the playoffs. Ferdette ought to be on a run and gun team that's willing to live or die by the three pointer (Golden State seems perfect, and if he landed there I would tune in from time to time). His accuracy can be unreal (even though it wasn't last night).

When he's on, I've honestly never seen a better shooter in my life. He's so confident in his ability that he routinely takes and makes double teamed off balance 30 foot jumpers. He's unique in his ability to elevate and square up to the basket. His shot is a thing of beauty. He's obviously got a green light.

On the Jazz (unless Corbin is about to change the team philosophy in a major way) he wouldn't be allowed to play like that and as a result, he wouldn't be the same player offensively. Since he's not going to be good defensively (because even if you buy the argument that his coach doesn't want him to play defense, he's still just over 6 feet tall) that doesn't leave much. From a marketing standpoint he's a good fit for the Jazz, but from a basketball standpoint I think he would be a big mistake.
