I don't find the the pictures in either Marcus' or moevillini's threads worth loking at, so I though I would start a third alternative, for us to wax rhapsodic n the joys of summer. In my case, that means the local amusment park, cooking out, not getting the kids ready for school, and similar things.

Yes, it will drop like a stone off the front page. Such is my life.

My favorite part of summertime is bikinis and beefcake male models. Also goofy guys in Fesenko jerseys.

I've always loved BBQ but was the one who never cooked it. This summer I decided to invest in a nice grill. I find myself grilling pretty much every single day of the week and love it. Yesterday was rough due to the wind and today is even worse. No BBQ tonight. Lame.

I love not working, getting the little things done around the house (or my gf's condo) that I've put off for months, getting tanned, working out more, drinking more, watching more movies, eating better; in short, I love to be able to just exhale.

Per your profile pic, the tanning is working out well for you. : )

I love my summer schedule. Monday-Thursday 7-11:30 AM - Football stuff (lifting, practice, etc). After that I go to lunch with coaches or go home and hang with kids. Maybe golf or play xbox or whatever. It's sweet. Lazy weekends unless there is a football camp or competition of some sort. Sprinkle in watching the girls play soccer. Absolutely love summers.

Used to do Drivers Ed in summer but just kind of a drag on my summer vibe so I ditched it despite it being the easiest $25 per hour job in the world.

$25/hour? Damn, I interviewed and was hired for such a job about seven years ago at about $15/hour but turned it down because it just didn't seem worth it.

I love ridin' 'round town with all the windows down, eight track playin' all my fav'rite sounds, the rhythm of the bongos fill the park, the street musicians tryin' to get a start.

the Taste of Chicago and driving on Lake Shore Drive with the skyline on one side and Lake Michigan on the other - and good music makes it even better

Hot August Nights, The Nugget Rib Cook-off (one of the best in the country), jet-skis on Lake Tahoe, hiking on Donner Summit, trips to the coast, a week in San Francisco and never once going to pier 39, Disney and Six Flags, boating on various small lakes, shooting competitions (small arms, handguns), Burning Man. Good times.

Short shorts.

That is all.

...the fragrance of the linden trees in bloom
and your windows open so the scent wafts through your room...

cause it's summer, summertime is here
yes it's summer, my time of year...

I've been working on mastering BBQ (or really technically grilled) chicken this summer. It was always one of my favorite things in the world but I always overcooked it in fear of being undercooked. So I think I've grilled it about 7 times so far this summer, and the trick is brining the chicken, and owning a decent meat thermometer. The beauty of chicken is that I can have 2-3 days worth of food for like $6.
