What's new

Forget the poll - Jazz just DID sign Raja Bell

*stand up applause for O'Connor. ******* brilliant move. Bell is a proven, veteran version of Matthews, but 24 million dollars cheaper. +40% 3point shooter, 80% FT shooter, feared defender. O'Connor has effectively filled 3 of our 4 greatest needs in the last week in what looked like a lost offseason. Amazing job O'Connor. You have redeemed thyself.

Can't argue with the move. Bell is probably not the defender he was at 28, but 3 point shooting is what we need with Korver gone and Bell is an assassin.

Bowen was a deadly defender up until the age of like 38. Bell was never a great defender because of his athleticism, it's because he's a pesky little son of a bitch, the kind of guy who opposing guards absolutely hate.

Why is Brown still being mentioned? He is a scrub, whom LA wanted to replace with Raja. We now have Raja. Can we forget about the scrub Brown now?

When the Jazz first got Raja several years ago, he was a scrub whose career high scoring average was 3.4 ppg. Anyway, Brown would provide certain things the Jazz could use more of - namely athleticism.

I know some of you are going to hate on Raja...but I am at least happy to have a guy that could have pulled a Lebron-like move and went to the Lakers to "guarantee" a ring...but instead runs back to Utah breaking an appointment with Kobe to join us. It has been said on ESPN that he likes the familiarity and loved playing for Sloan who gave him his first real shot as a player. I am all for a player of his caliber coming to join us. Freaking awesome and the guy still has skills...check the tape. I am sure he looked at our recent moves and saw promise for competing for a title here too where he can play a more active/valuable role...
