Free Agent Rumors Thread

Brandon Rush is on the list. HA

Al-Farouq Aminu
Gustavo Ayon
Leandro Barbosa
Emeka Okafor
Jason Smith
Ekpe Udoh

We should get Ayon. Always liked his game. He is a big body and can play. Evans/Novak are cool backups, but they can't be starters if Favors/Kanter go down, I think Ayon can.

Beyond minimum salary talent, I'd be surprised if Jazz sign a free agent (besides Hayward and maybe Marv)... The money is reserved for more salary dumps. Come on boozer, Lin or Jack (although doubt we help Cleveland).

Cleveland is looking to dump Jack to free up money for a pitch to Lebron. I think Philly will take on both Jack and Lin now that Pierre Jackson might be done for most of the season (ruptured achilles). Philly is cornering the market on injured players.

When LBJ goes back to Miami, I expect Cavs to call Utah's bluff by signing Hayward to a MAX deal, thinking Utah probably won't match. Cleveland really wants Hayward, trying to get Utah to do a sign and trade. We'll take Wiggins, Jack and other salary; they can have LBJ and Gordon (just wishful thinking!).

Is Tomic coming over? What's the word on that? If not, I sort of like Cy's call on Ayon. My problem with that though is he reminds me of Gobert and I want Gobert getting burn, preferably 20 minutes a night, and I think the minutes would get tricky for our bigs then.

Favors (32), Kanter (28), Gobert (20), Novak (16) is already 96 minutes so I'm just not sure where Ayon would fit in but I do like him.

Right now, if we do match on Hayward, I'm curious where we, as members, then see our biggest holes?

As long as:

1) Burks, Burke, Favors, Kanter, Hayward (presuming he returns) get 30 mins+
2) Exum 25-30
3) Gobert 20

I'm ok with anybody else.
Of course, I'm also hoping Hood gets 15 mins/per behind Hayward at SF.

I agree.

Regarding the tweet about taking on some team's salary dump, I'm all for it. I know the Kings were looking to dump salary pre-draft. If that's still the case, I'd strongly consider taking on some combo of Terry, Evans, Outlaw and/or Williams for their 2016 (better draft) unprotected 1st or no worse than top 3 protected. All four expire next year and let's face it, the Kings always stink. That 2016 1st, coupled with our own and these other assets we've been acquiring could be gold. Those are vets we could maybe use and guys who I don't think would be a pain in the *** with getting little to no time. If one (or more) of them became a pain in the ***, we could trade them after the December time period, perhaps picking up more 2nd rounders.

I think Exum's gonna be a home run so the idea of picking up more assets to possibly get another homer is a huge turn on to me.

Ayon and Gobert are completely different players. Gobert is four inches taller than Ayon and has far more defensive stopper potential than Ayon. Not even close, imo. Gobert averaged almost one bpg in 9 minutes, Ayon averaged .4 blocks in 16 mpg.

Fair point. I suppose it was just their big, lanky bodies and the way they move. That said, my point still stands on having a logjam at the 4/5. Unless of course Ayon is cool with some DNP's which he may be, I don't know.

Ayon is a minimum player, hes 29 and a 6'10-6'11 guy that takes too many layups. Throw it down bigman!

Aminu is a much better fit for the Jazz. he plays both SF and PF

Also Al Farouq has always been a 70% ft shooter, last year was an outlier.
