What's new

Friday Jazz VS Blazers 7pm MT

Deep-end-of-bench guys are most important for how they impact team culture and practice. IN OTHER WORDS, we all have no idea how valuable Evans is...... 25 wins or 60.
Yep. Guys like Evans and Millsap are wonderful to have if there isn't a youngster we're trying to develop. This team is becoming deep and we have Euros and draft picks stacked up. Eventually, players like Evans, Millsap, Clark, etc. won't be able to make the team. Or they'll have to constantly beat out 2nd round picks or stashed players to do so. Ingles is a step above. He's a great passer and adequate defender. He actually is a decent shooter if given a wide open look. Does he have the slowest release in the league? And I think Quin likes his veteran leadership. He's been in a lot of international battles. I think Ingles will definitely have a roster spot next year. And I think we also will have a spot for Elijah. I doubt we ever see Tomic in a Jazz uniform and I think Neto is 50-50. I could see Pleiss deciding to come over.

Burke had a sweet game. Suck it haters. That floater is coming along nicely. His defense was better than normal. His passing was crisp. and no Kanter like crying. I love the man.
He did. He took a couple of shots when he could have passed into even better ones. But that's nitpicking. For awhile he was the only offense we had. I'm glad Quin had the sense to give Dante a quick hook.

Pleiss is coming.

LOL - Millsap is the oldest player on the team now.

He's basically Ronnie Brewer without the talent he had surrounding him to make up for his offensive deficiencies.

Like his defense - plays hard, can guard 3 positions. But, also like Brewer, it seems very easy to get him out of position.

All in all, not a bad guy for a D-Leaguer. Jazz can do a lot worse. God knows they have. But I wouldn't expect much more than what we're seeing right now.

Some big differences though between brewer and E-Sap.

1- brewer was an elite athlete. E- Sap is not an elite athlete.

2-E-Sap is currently shooting the 3 above the leage average ( Kind of frustrates the E-Sap is a terrible shooter argument I keep seeing). Brewer never sniffed above league average 3 point shooting.

Yeah I like the Tony Allen lite comparison better.

Still think it's funny Batum told the Blazer's to draft Gobert with their pick but they took McCollum instead.

Was it worth the wait? I had to wait until tonight...damn that game was sweet. And again, if you don't like Booker after a game like tonight, **** off. There's a guy who loves the game and his teammates.

Yep. I hope we can convince Booker to stay after next season. That's one HUGE benefit of trading Enes: Jazz have cleared minutes for Trevor. Wonder how much it will take to keep him? What worries me is that he'll hit the market in 2016. With tons of cap space, teams are going to bid up the services of FA's like Booker. I wonder if there's a chance to not pick up his option and then lock him in at a higher salary for 4 years. It would be a Boozer-like risk but perhaps worth it.

Oh man, do you have a link to that story? That sounds hilarious and I want to revel in it.

Also, I seem to recall that it was none other than Jerry Sloan who fixed Lindsey's eyes on Gobert. Something along the lines of: "Get the big guy, he's a really, really hard worker."

There's the making of a joke somewhere in there:

Sloan recommends Gobert and Corbin recommends Burke.

Hypothetical:

Assuming all trade requests and feelings of being disgruntled with minute distributions from Enes were never present, and you're GM, do you:

A) Take Booker as your third big for $5mil/year OR
B) Take Enes as your third big for $12mil/year
