What's new

Friday Jazz VS Blazers 7pm MT

Dude might end up being the leader this team needs too. I actually loved that exchange and his fire. Dudes not afraid to speak his mind. This team needs that.

He orders guys around on offense too. He has everything that Kanter lacks upstairs.

Some fine words from the Portland message boards:

For not having a great record, the Jazz play good defense and always play hard. Good coaching.

Thank god Utah aint making the playoffs and we only see them one more time. This is gonna be a damn good team in 2 years. Give credit to them, for sure.

Sad stat of the night, Blazers had more turnovers than assists.

For a team talking about being hungry and prepping for the stretch run, they sure didn't act like it tonight. Utah flat out wanted it more. They got to every loose ball. They played the passing lanes. And they completely out-executed Portland. Coach Stotts had no answer for the pick and roll. Instead of making Gobert move on defense, we played right into his strengths. I could go on and on, but why bother?

And Portland's big halftime adjustment turned out to be, "Let us forget this night ever happened and never speak of it again."

Everyone gets on Kanter because of his RPM. However Gobert was minus this game while LA was positive. The Utah bench outplayed the Portland bench is the reason for this blowout and everyone is ready to crown Gobert as a taller version of Bill Russel.

Five blocks is Russel like dude!

He had 5 blocks and forced them to take bad shots. LA had favors posted up and he saw Rudy stepping over to help so he passed it out with less than 10 on the shot clock. He knew he couldn't take both of them.

Favors + Gobert is going to be the best defensive front court in the league book it.

Yup and they can both rebound. Soft bigs are going to have trouble against Utah. LMA has always been kind of soft IMO and that is why he can't overcome Gobert.

You're 100% right. The Bench was the reason they blew the doors off Portland. And you're right about the real PM. I don't know what to tell you other than Enes Kanter will never have 5 blocks and 2 dimes in the same game in his entire NBA career

He did have that 17p/9r/5b game against the Bucks on February 2013, but not in a Gobert way of course. Most of them looked like they were accidentally blocked.
