Burks has become a decent shooter.

ALOT better than hayward last year
 
"As practice ended, Quin Snyder gathered the players bolded above (those with NBA contracts for next season) on the far end of the practice court, and ran through a quick drill displaying some of the spacing that he’d like his team to feature next season. In particular, he demonstrated the flexibility that getting the ball to the high post after a pick-and-roll can offer. After receiving the ball near the free throw line, Snyder showed that it’s easy to then swing the ball to an open corner three shooter, or simply dump it into an open low post player, in order to take advantage of the collapsing defense. It was interesting that Snyder was teaching these lessons on Day 1, as well as that he wanted his contract guys to get in a little more work than their non-contract counterparts."

Burks % improved, but to say that he is a lot better shooter ignores that he shoots half the 3 point attempts that Hayward does, and one less 2 pointer per game. If Burks started shooting a lot of 3 pointers, I bet his percentage goes down.

Hayward averaged 1.1 made three point shot per game, and burks averaged .6 made three pointers. There is more to being a good shooter than having a good percentage on limited shots. Korver and Memo were great shooters because they took a lot of shots and made a huge percentage of them. Hayward was that way in 2013, when the floor was spaced better, and I expect him to improve as the Jazz offense gets more spaced out. Burks should as well, especially if he and Hayward continue playing alongside each other as they did at the end of last season.

Damn Corbin. If he hadn't been such a crappy coach, we might know if Hayward is ever going approach being worth this Charlotte offer or not.

This would be one argument for matching the Hayward offer. Gordon might return to the 40% 3-PT shooter he was a couple of seasons ago. Still not a franchise player deserving of the max, but the gap would close a bit.

And then all the returning players asked Snyder... "when do we dump it in the post and stand around?"

So glad Corbin is gone.

Well his as his 3 pt attempts have gone up, so has his percentage so far. But whatever, you will see what ya want

Shot 55% from the left elbow in the 15-23 foot range. Was pretty good everywhere in the midrange besides the right corner 15-20 range.

Burks just flat-out can't shoot off the dribble going left. His spot-up numbers where good from the left 3, but can't pull up going left.

Burks isn't anywhere near as good as Hayward.
