-‘25 unprotected (Pistons unprotect the ‘25 pick the Jazz acquire from Knicks), ‘27, ‘29’, ‘31 picks
-Isaiah Stewart
-Wendell Moore

Detroit has enough cap space to raise Lauri ~$18.5 million this year and pay a max extension

Regardless of who the other teams are, IF the Jazz trade Markkanen/Sexton, I like the idea of working super swaps in ‘25, ‘27 and ‘29 and then getting unprotected picks in the off years from the current picks coming from the Cavs, Lakers and Wolves.

Are super swaps legal?

Why weren’t they a thing before now?

They are. The language is pretty simple. Jazz retain the right to swap picks with the (for example) Golden State Warriors for the lowest owned pick of the Jazz, Cavs and Timberwolves. Jazz get the Warriors pick if it’s higher than any of those three.

It’s essentially the same type of deal we made with the Nets when we traded them Royce O’Neale, but instead of a draft pick, it was a player. We got the lowest pick between Houston, Philly and Brooklyn that year. Houston got the highest, Brooklyn got the middle pick, Jazz got the lowest pick. Same structure.

Edey and Bane are legit young talent.

Edey basically crushed Kessler and stole his soul in the Summer League game.
