Thanks for sharing your sons journey with us Xthren. Your blog and your example of staying strong as a family and embracing the love and support from your community will offer comfort to those going through similar challenges.
 
It seems like such an inadequate expression, but you have my sincere condolences. I'm sure he'll be there to greet you in a joyous reunion, though, as the song goes "by and by".

Condolences, xthren. We spend a lot of time in Jazzfanz joking around, trading barbs, getting in petty spats. Then we come across a thread like this and it sobers us and makes us realize what's truly important. May you have the faith to see you through this difficult time.
 
I can't even imagine how hard that would be to not only lose a child, but see the suffering of a child through an illness such as cancer. At least he can rest and be at peace. My thoughts and condolences to you.

Things like this seem to point out how meaningless this world is in comparison to the 'thereafter'. He is in a better place now, patiently waiting for the rest of you to join him one day :)

Like everyone else, I offer my inadequate condolences. I know nothing that is said or done will make your pain and loss go away. Keep your faith in God. You'll be in my prayers and thoughts.
