G League Chit 2025

How on earth do you manage to produce just 7 PRABS in 20 minutes in the G League? What the actual f***?

Everyone else who stepped on the court in that game for the Stars had 8 or more points alone, and Cameron McGriff (idk even know who that guy is) had the second lowest PRABS number for the Stars with 13 in 20 min. Thats almost double what Cody had.

Please Ainge almighty, make it stop. Make the pain go away.

The only thing that makes sense is that 6’8” guys with the length and quickness are so valuable and rare that you take chances on long shot developmental prospects.

It took Jerami Grant until year 4 or 5 to start having an impact. Theoretically, Cody could do the same, but I'm just not seeing the mentality on his part to want to get involved and make plays. He needs to show some competitive fire, some passion for playing. He seems content just to be out there and coast.

Stars drop 174 points on the Blazer JVs. Cody looked a lot better and Tay Henny had a meh game. Harkless with 34 points, Tonje with 29 points and Oscar with 20 points, 22 rebounds. Cody had 6 assists tonight and was engaged throughout the festivities. Max Abmas, Justin Harmon and Sean East II had strong games off the bench for the Stars. No Mo again tonight.

In a game which 174 points were scored Hendricks scored 8. That's insane
It is... did have 5 assists though. 174 points is why I wouldn't want those guys in the G League too long lol. Just give both guys 15-20 minutes a night and if they suck we get a good pick and have enough data to move on.

I still have hope for Taylor. If this is how he is playing in a year tho... I'll be real sad.

There's a lot of talk about how giving minutes to the young guys could lead to bad habits. While I'm on the other side of the argument, there probably is a hint of truth to that. But if we're worried about bad habits the GLeague might be as bad as it gets. The basketball being played there is awful to begin with, but it's made even more awful whenever an NBA guy goes down there. What little team structure they have is destroyed. The offense becomes: NBA player jacks up shots while the GLeague guys fight to get their own fill of chucking.

I suppose GLeague minutes (and practices) are better than no minutes at all. But it's truly a different sport.

Will kind of acknowledged that Taylor is struggling with reaction and trusting his body... like rust and rehab stuff. While I get that G league may help a bit with that I just think the reps are 100x better and more meaningful with the varsity team. Like show him his eff ups with the team for a few games and give him 10-15 games of consistent play to smooth it out. We literally lose nothing and gain everything. If the team revolts and tears down the locker room because Love or Anderson aren't playing then the leadership is horrendous and the players are fragile lol.

But let's not get it twisted. This is still an Ainge issue. They have to be decisive and intentional. If that means moving a couple guys, waiving them, or just telling them to ride the pine while they work on trades... fine. We have like 5-6 games this next month or so that will likely determine how successful the tank is. Its time to put the thumb on the scale. Cody and Taylor need to stay with varsity. Sorry.

One of the best GLeague players I have seen was Kaniel Dickens. He was a 2nd round pick by the Jazz about 25 years ago, got cut in training camp and then headed to the GLeague. The guy could jump out of the building, could hit shots from the next county and played good D. When he would get a 10 day contract he could never have these skills to translate into the Association for any staying power. The skill level of average NBA players is that good.
