I think that’s part of it that I don’t blame him on. He gets hit in the face neck etc on so many block attempts... the. They give Rudy the foul... maybe that’s why he doesn’t want to block shots anymore.

Him being average is most of the problem on D.

I don't know. He's not the only tall guy in the NBA. Also, this happens every game, where he gets hit and doesn't get the call, and never runs back on D because he's acting like he was knocked out and arguing with the ref.

This Jazz team is ****ing painful. This same roster was my favorite Jazz team of all time last year. lmao. What a world.

During last year's run, the strength of the team "was the team". That was true. Overplayed at least publicly, but it was true. Rubio was a huge ingredient to that formula. Exum, amongst other deficiencies to his game, brings little to the teams' chemistry. Both his iso game on the court and outlying personality off the court adds very little to what was at least, this teams biggest reason for success.

Unless we are in tank mode, Snyder has to play Ricky. I'm almost with you though, play Exum, as tank mode isn't too far off.

And no, you being a Faves fan it's not why I gave you flak, it's you saying Gobert is trash, slow, he should be traded, and Favors is so so much better than him the reason why I trolled you, because really, that take is so idiotic it got seared in my mind like that stupid Christmas song you heard in the mall. Rudy is gaurding the penetrating attacker who our defensive scheme funnels into him. He then has to make the choice of who to stop in the pnr.

I don't know what happened to our defenders and our overall length was once an asset, but our lack of athleticism gaurding the three point line and being able to recover on the pnr is lacking.

Our players are flawed and our scheme is flawed. This is not on Rudy.

I think the Jazz are one of the better teams at defending the 3 this year.

rubio gets blown by about 100x a game.
 
so back home from thanksgiving and finally watched a replay of the game. they finally play good D and then shoot even worse than they had been. having o'neale and exum on the floor together was RIDICULOUSLY STUPID. There were a few possessions where they were wide open for a 3 or midrange jumper and neither one even dared to look at the hoop or shoot. they needed offense to win this game and quin trots out a **** lineup for most of the 4th. and i'm a staunch/admittedly biased allen supporter, but the amount of hate towards him in this game thread is ridiculous. I was reading through before watching the game and couldn't imagine he'd be as terrible in 3 minutes of play as a few people were making him out to be. in his few minutes, he created a turnover on mcgee by rotating down to the post and knocking the ball away, he contested a 3 by KCP, went on the break and was clearly fouled by KCP on his dunk attempt, he got fouled again in the halfcourt by KCP after driving by him and again with no call, then got in a bad size matchup against his former teammate ingram on a post-up and actually held his own/ground until getting called for a weak foul. quin rightfully pulled him out after that due to the bad matchup, but he should've gotten minutes in the 2nd half when the offense was lacking and royce/dante weren't doing anything. not much more to make of his minutes other than that.
 
The defense would look a lot better if our offense was putting the ball in the hoop more and allowing the defense to get set up more often
