Game #26: Spurs @ Jazz

The Jazz need to take Kanter out behind the shed and put him out of his misery. This is ridiculous. He should be sent down to the D-League, not Gobert.

think a new coach will teach him how to not airball 3footers?

No one to give him some confidence and develop him. I'd even bet that if we traded kanter right now we would become a beast of a player on his new team. Corbin is killing him.

Jazz competing. Spurs had the one run against our bench. other than that its a pretty even game. These are the ones I don't mind loosing. Young guys look good (other than Kanter) and we compete but come up a little short

Kanter once again another game where he's a complete liability that only hurts his team rather than helps.

Other than tinsley or JL3, is there another player with a worse +-?

He's a #3 pick who sucks! I honestly would like to see Gobert get some burn over kanter.

I really do think that the only way kanter makes this league is if he is placed on a crappy team and is allowed to chuck away and never play defense. Much like Big Al has done for his entire career. Serial losers like minny, Milawakee, Charlotte, Toronto, Detroit, and New York would be ideal destinations for him.

But what I don't get is that Kanter looked really good at some point last season. I don't know what's wrong with him. :(

Kanter, like Big Al before him, has absolutely no concept of team basketball.

Against crappy players in reserve time, he can put up a few nice stats. But as soon as defenses focus on him or when he has to play against starters, he completely falls apart. Kanter might have benefitted a lot had he been able to play at Kentucky for a few years.

He still has no idea how to pass the rock. 3 guys collapse? Nah, I don't feel like passing. I'll just chuck up an airball instead.

I was listening to very interesting Bruce Bowen interview and what struck me was when he said that Calipari and Kentucky does not teach kids fundamentals so he does not value Kentucky players as much as players from other, better programs. I guess PKM will disagree and I will not argue as I am not a expert on NCAA at all. But that's what B.Bowen said.

lol @ tiny game thread

This season is so exciting! The Jazz win when they win and they win when they lose

That is pretty accurate. Calipari recruits great 1v1 players that can win those matchups most night in college ball. He is an average coach that is a ridiculously good recruiter.

Calipari recruits a lot of players that have more raw athletic ability than skills. It's not a result of his coaching. Pretty foolish statement. Bruce is just jealous of many of Cal's players natural athletic ability. He has these guys for a year. Nobody is going to be able to 'coach' a relatively poor shooter to become Jeff Hornaceck in a single college basketball season, nor will anyone be able to 'coach' a poor ball-handler to become Tony Parker overnight.

I think the point Bruce is trying to make is that he thinks NBA management values potential too much compared to players with skills. In which case, he should probably say that instead of what he did say.
