Exum made a read on the defense in transition and was about to cut to the rim, he made the right basketball decision since a driving Exum is about a billion times more effective than a spot up in the corner Exum but O'Neale's pass was poorly timed. If he waited half a second longer he would have been able to lead Exum to the spot for a layup.He passed the ball to the 3pt line, where Exum should have been flaring too, not standing in the mid-range.
Like I said, it was a bad pass, but he was going off instinct of what his teammate should have been doing.
The first one you can blame Exum for because he was already driving to the rim before he secured the ball but that 2nd one was O'Neale's fault 100%
