A final showdown with the white walker leaders and a handful of valyrian steel wielding baddasses would have been pretty cool to see. I also agree with Archie that their strategy was dog ****. What's the point of sending out your riders to be massacred and join the army of the dead at the start of the battle? Why only one trench? They've long known fire is the most effective way to kill wights so why were there no buckets of pitch or oil on the walls? These seem like the kind of ideas that a master strategist like Tyrion might have thought of. It's a shame what's become of his character, he serves so little purpose now. Compare his brilliant strategy at the battle of blackwater to this cluster ****. Smh.

Yes they have totally neutered Tyrion. Might be the biggest travesty in the show.

The thing is, they made the NK too OP so he kind of had to go down the way he did (if his character isn't willing to engage in an ego fight with Snow), by complete surprise.

It would have been better and far more cinematic to have a battle Royale type showdown like stoked said. White walkers in the Grove, bloody and exhausted heroes. Lose a few in the battle to make it real, like jorah, briene, have Melisandre actually fighting and die in the battle, maybe her magic necklace explodes in one final Blaze if glory taking out a big chunk of the horde of the dead to trying to get into the grove. In the end Jon snow and the NK one on one, and then out of nowhere Arya comes, hits him with the dagger. But we find out valyrian steel can hurt him but isn't enough alone, but it's the distraction and opening Jon needs to take off his head. Then it ends.

Tell me that wouldn't have been 1000x better.

This is also why Cersei using wildfire to off her personal enemies is such a waste. It was being stored by the Maesters (sp?) to be used against the Dead...although most of them had forgotten their duty and purpose. Her double cross also sold out the living, and deprived then of one of their major weapons. It is also another example of the missed opportunities of the writers of the show. If they are not handed the plot by GRRM, they miss the nuance and go for the mellow-drama/cliche. e.g. Lyanna Mormont, the littlest character, taking out a Zombie-Giant? It will be curious to see where the books go from here, but I doubt that he will incorporate all the the plot outcomes in the HBO version.

Lmfao. GOT has clearly painted the dragons as being able to spew fire upon command. Even at the end of battles where they used fire extensively. Like the Danys ambush of the Lannister’s.

Oh I have it! Have Melisandre come banshee screaming out of the night and jump on one of the Ice Knights (not sure what to call the Ice King’s major cronies) and start yelling out that enchantment to light things up with fire. In doing so she intentionally saves Davos and locks eyes with him. Then her and the Ice Knight go up in flames.

Same with some kind of scene with Tormund and Podric dying to save Brienne. So many possibilities.

It's impossible. They have an unlimited source of dead people to revive to fight for them.

Nah, not really. GOT has common sense and is bound to its universe. Yes, tge dragons can shoot a lot of fire. No they can't constantly shoot it out. Sorry yalls dumb ideas make no sense.
