Game Thread: Jazz at Raptors, any minute now

Ingles was playing some hard, tough defense all night. And he still offers great playmaking. Refs screwed him though
Some people only see missed shots then freak out.

Ingles had to guard the 2nd or 3rd best player in the NBA all game. He just didnt have the energy on offense. It sucks, but it is what it is. Can't really blame him.

And for the record, Dante should have absolutely nailed at least 1 or 2 more of his lay up attempts. Definitely needs to do better.

Not this game necessarily, but thebtotality of this season has been aweful. I don’t care about the strength of schedule argument. The way we’ve lost in a lot of games has been the indicator. Again, not specifically tonight, but we don’t have any offense and as a result it’s rendered Donovan fairly ineffective most of the time.

The strength of schedule consultation argument is like getting blown out by 30 and arguing that the opposition will pull there starters a few minutes into the fourth and that you can then make a run, then in the last 1.5 minutes hustle and, despite being down 30 now, may be able to cut the final tally to single digits.

And he's followed it up this year by being...less than great. He's nearly thirty and he's been playing basketball professionally for almost fifteen years, yeah, basically he is who he is.

My point is that by now I think we all have a pretty good idea of who Ricky Rubio the basketball player is, Donovan still has tons and tons of potential for improvement.
He's been better this year at this point in the season than he was last year...

Yeah, he was very physical on defense tonight. Can't expect more from him.

All of the guards were bad tonight. Rubio played much better in the 2nd half but his 1st half wasn't good at all, Exum was kinda the reverse with a decent 1st half and bad 2nd half, and Mitchell is struggling in general.

Jazz were 9/32 from deep

Kawhi had a career night and Siakam played really well.

Refs were garbage 3rd quarter

I really don't think we can use the offense being mediocre as an excuse for Donovan. It'd be one thing if he was hitting his easy shots at a good rate, but he isnt. He's been horrendous on open C&S 3's.

For him, I think it's just that teams now have a really great scouting report on all his tendencies and he doesnt know how to counter it yet. Combine that with just flat out poor shooting from 3, and he's having a rough time being efficient.
