Do you remember the program he came to or the defense that he fixed? Bronco's probably about as good a coach that they're going to find with their criteria, they just need to recruit better and get better offensive coaching (which is probably a very tall order, their pool is drying).

They'll never know if they can find a better coach or not if they are content with what they currently have. Take it FWIW, I believe Bronco has shown a lot of mental weakness in the past. Or I should say he has be out coached. New and better recruits would go a long way with their program. There's no doubt about that. We can say that about every program. I just don't see Bronco as a guy who will take them where BYU fans ultimately want to go. This is obviously my opinion.

He won't, because that's just how it is with BYU. They put themselves at competitive disadvantages when they're already at a permanent competitive disadvantage (do I even need to list what they are)? The only way to be the best is to strive towards being the best and that's not what BYU is about. Which is fine.

There is room for some marginal improvement in the program, but national championships are not and will not be realistic nor reasonable goals. Who wants to let students live their lives, be in a major conference, broaden their student and recruiting base, or decide to stop emblazoning the name of the most famous racist that the church has had to offer anyway? They have that moral high-ground to lose if they did any of those things. Good for them, their asses, and the heads that are in them.
 
Just got back from the game and man, is it late. What a great win! I gotta say, the fans and atmosphere at LES are STRANGE! I've lived in Utah my whole life and I swear I felt like I was on another planet. Very kooky.

PS, in response to your rep: I'm definitely not a BYU fan. I'm as neutral as they come-- and enjoy flinging **** at the loser.




It's particularly enjoyable when you had posters like Duck, Trout, and Thrill talking out of their *** for weeks beforehand
 
I'm not UGLI (obvi) or a lefty... but I think can elaborate a bit.

I have gone to a few events that were predominantly LDS in the crowd. I'm talking like concerts, not a church event..
It was weird and awkward.. especially for the performers, imo.

They would come out on stage expecting people to stand up, shout, and holler.. but instead got a very strange golf clap.
For those few that did act like most would act at a concert, those people were looked at as if on drugs or likely just a lost soul, lol.

Anyway, an entire evening of poker-faced fans golf clapping their way to the grand finale.. a glance to their neighbor and a mid-level (not too high, now) five.

I'm not hating on LDS... but those concerts were very awkward and, frankly, embarrassing to be part of.

The Pac-12 refs are horrible. The only bad thing about being in the Pac-12 is you have to deal with the worst football officials I've seen. They should just fire them all and hire the old MWC officials they were much better than the trash the pac-12 offers.

You mean like BYU's receiver's every time their QB hit the field instead of throwing it near them. Just throw your hands up intentionally run into the defender and start whining for a call. I seriously saw this around 3-4 times.
