George Hill coming to Utah

Locke: Accordgng to @SynergySST George Hill has a 72% efg on unguarded catch and shoot 91st percentile -

I've been away all day.
Is there anything new to the original #12 for Hill? No other details have surfaced?

I'll take the #3 and #16 for Hayward, Max Harrison Barnes, run the offense thru Hood. And I wouldn't do this deal for 12.. There'd still be $$ to sign Conley or another max player.

The end result of next season is the same ---- the Jazz lose.. except the team is much younger 3 new rookies to develop and they'll have a btter chance to land a top pick in a better draft.. and they wont be on the hook to pay Hayward 30,000,000..

I have patience though.. To me this move signals the Jazz are choosing to take baby steps.. When I gamble, I like to go big (like the D-Will to NJ trade)

This trade is Tyson Chandler to the Knicks status IMO.

Anyone wanna join me in laughing at PG_AB's New York Knicks?!!

Laughed for 10 mins straight when I heard news of the trade. Garbage franchise.

Once you respond to this I'll give ya an answer

Lets say they signed Rondo with those moves.

Rondo - Exum - Jamal Murray(#3) - Mack
Hood - Burks - Jamal Murray(#3)
Barnes - Burks/Hood -Taurean Prince (#16) - Ingles
Favors - Lyles - FA
Gobert - Poeltl(#12) - Withey

.. That to me is viable as ****.

If the chemistry isn't right thats not a bad scenario (other than for ticket sales) theyll end up inone of the strongest lottery's in recent memory, and there's plenty of cap flexibility still..

Eww, no thanks to that team. And that is a lot of money, not a flexible team, we would spend on maxing Barnes and paying Rondo.

I love the player we got and I LOVE the fit! What gives me pause is the contract status. And we don't really know what the FO is thinking about it. Here's how I'd summarize my feelings about it depending on what FO is thinking:
-If they are thinking of him as a 1 year rental I don't like it at all.
-if they are thinking of resigning him after next season/giving him good enough contract to stay/overpaying long-term - I hate it because we have better players to keep and that contract might be hindrance to it.
-If they have a plan to restructure and extend the contract so they'd give him more money now for less in the future, I think this is a solid deal. High level back up PG for ~10M would be pretty good deal starting next year.

Giving some pause now. Good post.

Dont look for many assists from Hill. Only 3.5 last year. He seems more like a two guard now. Did shoot 41% from 3 though so he should at least help with that. I am still not to high on winning a couple of extra games next season for the 12th pick.

Why would I ever respond seriously to a post that says the Jazz should max Harrison Barnes?

Thats 2 starter-quality NBA champions I have in the Jazz starting lineup.. Of course you wouldn't respond to that seriously. you probably take pride in being a fan of a loser franchise.

Again, I haven't read the thread, but I assume I feel the same as the majority.
Love the player/fit, a lot, but feels icky that he's got one year left and we could possible be missing on a good player tied up many years.

I like win now, but not sure how much we can win next year that's really meaningful.

One thing is certain, though... We know less than 10% of the behind-the-scenes plotting and scheming.

Oh, also, I'd rather have Teague dominate the ball than Hayward. We have seen what Hayward can do. He is a very good player. But he is a #2 or #3. Teague is a #1. Teague has taken his team to the playoffs. Hayward hasn't.

You won't actually respond to any of my points, but you wanna call Teague a #1?! You're clueless. Buddy, if Hayward isn't a #1, Teague isn't either.
