And there it is, Biyombo to Charlotte. Last-minute invite to the Green Room. Steal of the draft in my opinion. 15 hours ago · reply · retweet · favorite

I wish the Jazz had traded Kanter for this guy and grabbed another asset in the process. It's going to be fun to watch him develop. His defense will be gargantuan and I'll bet that more than a few will have to reassess their "no offensive game whatsoever" comments. I'm predicting 2.5 blocks, 8 rebounds, 11 ppg, 25 mpg in his first season.

11 ppg? divide it by 2

I don't know about the points, and I'm not sure about so soon, but I'm very confident he will be boarding and stuffing like that in short order.

No doubt of his shot blocking ability, none. Rebounds will come at a rate commensurate with his hands improving. Ever think that all those blocks were actually rebound attempts? I kid.

Dude will drop down the memory hole just like Saer Sene in 3 years. When crunch time comes and he needs to defend the basket, the other team will just foul him every time he touches the ball. That's assuming they even find a way to get him on the floor without completely destroying their offensive flow.

I'll never understand the infatuation people have with "players" like Biyombo. A defensive specialist has to have at least one discernable offensive skill. Biyombo has none.

Seriously? Kanter for Bismack? Well, you will always have a job working for Sacramento, the Clippers or Minnesota. That is ridiculous idea.

Biyombo could have been the perfect player for us, now i worry about our defense for next couple years.

Defensive stars are incredibly hard to come by

Biyombo will not average more than 10 points in his first season. His first obstacle will be foul trouble. Even if he gets 35 mpg, he still wouldn't get 10 ppg.

That Favors kid is a pretty good defender. Kanter will be a beast on the inside.

"I can block shots, I can rebound, I play intense, I play hard," Biyombo said this week at a Bobcats pre-draft workout.

He knows he's not a scorer, but with coaching he can only improve that part of his game

I know bobcats fans are really excited about this kid being a "instant huge defensive presence"

Only if he averages 20 shot attempts. If it isn't the highest risk/reward pick of the lottery, it's certainly up there. Could go either way.

I agree that it's ridiculous if you leave out my "and add another asset in the process" comment. It wouldn't be so ridiculous if you ended up landing Bismak and a future first rounder... but if you think your amendment to my idea could land me a job as a GM maybe I should take it and run.

2 put backs per game, two fast break layups or dunks, then mix in another basket or a couple of free throws. He's never going to take anything near 20 shots. I admit that my number is on the high-side of his first year potential but I'm sticking with it.

I'm predicting a stay in the D-League for Biyombo, followed by a non-tender, and a name mentioned with Kwame Brown and Adam Morrison for Michael Jordan draftees.

Your entitled to your own opinion but I'm telling you Biyombo will be a defensive stand out.

Agree. Favors and Kanter have more complete games. Kanter isn't a shot-blocker, but I think we can all agree that stat is WAY over-rated. Jazz were actually one of the best shot-blocking teams in the NBA last season. With Favors, Kanter and Jefferson, the Jazz will have 3 bigs who are excellent rebounders. That was something missing last year. Hopefully the Jazz can also get better rebounding from the SF and SG spots.
